How do you feel about having a compilation video of each event posted on the THSCC Forums website?

I'll gladly volunteer to put together a compilation video after each of our events (autox, rallyx, whatever-x) if people are willing to provide me with copies of their in-car videos, event videos, digital pics, etc. I really enjoy checking out the videos posted on the autocross.us website. Not sure if everyone can access the following link, but it's an example of what we could post after our events.

I believe its a good campaigning tool as well (to help get sponsors and maybe even new sites). Anyway.....as always, you thoughts and comments are welcome!!

That is a great idea. I always have either a video camera or a still camera with me at all the events.

I would prefer if my car and license plate are not in a public domain shown running at VIR, Roebling or Rockingham. Why make it easier for the insurance company to screw me over? Not to be a killjoy, but I know of people who have been dropped after on track incidents.

Why not take a flat bladed screwdriver and remove the two screws attaching your plate to the car anyway? In-car video of people behind you will show that anyway, and you don't have control of that.

True, but I was asked if I would support the club hosting these videos, not if I could stop other people from filming my car. Yes, I could remove the license plate, however, I would prefer not to have to as it is one more thing to forget or lose. Somehow I think Roxboro cops might take a dim view of me driving through their town without a plate with the reason that is off being "I was just on a race track and didn't want my insurance company to have a way to find out."

Don't worry. When you pass by they'll have Randy stopped again and be too busy to notice you. :o

i think it's not a bad idea for us to have some kinda video on the web site, when i'm talking to people about the club and what autocross is, and trying to explain to some people what we do would be alot easier with pics or video of us having fun autocrossing.

but i understand if people don't their plates posted all over the web, yes it would be easy to just take them off or flip them around... but maybe we can set something up on the website to where people can opt out of having their car shown on the site?

Just put some tape over your plate if you dont want it shown.
