Following are some new "special projects" that can be handled any time but need some special knowledge or care. I have singled these out as work items that people can work on when they want to, rather than when we have a "bus day" specifically. I'd like to see all of these done in the next 2 weeks. I'm learning that sooner is always better than later on this bus stuff, so let's hear from some volunteers this week!
I'll list some thoughts below, but call me for more details. Some of thses items are "left over" from the last list.
I learned from my 4 years in officership that good running equipment is one of the most important things this club needs to keep running smoothly. We're not going to get this bus in tip-top shape without a lot of help from everyone in the club. So let me know what you can do!
If you want to help out people who are identified as owners, contact them directly and copy me on correspondence.
1. Check all NC safety inspection items, get inspected ASAP - Rick Butters
DONE
2. Replace door lock cylinders - no key works
DONE. Taken care of. Removed right side door lock, added padlock to rear door.
3. Troubleshoot / fix wireless PA - Ron Spencer and Rob Harvey
DONE
4. Install second helmet strip - Amy Mindick
DONE
5. FM modulator improvements and antenna - Ron Spencer and Rob Harvey
DONE
6. Transmission flush, differential fluid flush, coolant flush
DONE. Taken care of at Randy's Father's shop.
7. Replace tongue jack w/ something that will clear door - Charlie Guthrie
DONE. Thanks Charlie!
8. Install bus spare tire mount/winch (requires fabrication) - Joe Dobner
DONE
9. Trailer spare tire and mount - Mark C is working on it
DONE. It's in the trailer on the shelf.
10. Bus brake light - troubleshoot - STILL NEED VOLUNTEER. Moved to new special projects list
I'll add this to the new "special projects list". Since the brakes were fixed, we now have the opposite problem - sometimes the brake light is off even when the P brake is on. Probably something simple.
OLD INFO: The "Brake warning" light stays on in the bus even when the parking brake is released. We really need to get this working so people won't be trying to drive away with the parking brake on. Not sure what problems the warning light might be indicating -- but Graham Jagger said he had purchased a Haynes manual which should help troubleshoot this.
11. Bus rear brakes bleed, adjust, check shoes
DONE. Thanks Randy.
12. Buy replacement latches for side emergency window - Art McDonald?
ONE DONE. Is Art still WORKING ON IT?
13. Caulk leaking screws + gap in trailer
DONE.
