Idea for new sites

Driving home from work in the country i was staring at all the open fields around me and thinking at least one of these fields are never used. And then i got a light bulb. Classifieds in Local News Papers. Didn't know if this has already been brought up or not but i figure its worth a shot. We could use this for Rally and autocross sites. Thinking of some catchy title and ofcourse i wouldn't tell the whole truth in the add cause when people first read it there going to scream law suite! Think of some adds to write up having the amount of money that could be offered for renting for a raceday. I think that it might be worth a shot.

what do ya think?

It's been thought of, but not yet done. I thought of it last year & Mike authorized Carl & me to put an ad in the paper looking for rallyX sites. However, as cheap as I am, I had another idea before we did it & the new idea didn't cost any money.

Since we were going up into Vance & Warren counties often as we moved my mother up to Durham (& the soil there has a lot of clay & should pack well), we stopped at probably a dozen little stores & put up flyers with tear-off slips to call Carl if they owned or knew of anyone who owned at least 8 acres we could use for pay. Really to my surprise, we haven't gotten one response from those flyers; however, as he was putting them up, people in a few of those stores had ideas for Carl to investigate. Carl just hasn't yet had time to get up there way & investigate them more.

So, ads in some papers might produce something & you might also put up some flyers as well (I can email you the flyer we used if you'd like) & talk to local folks in any community convenience stores you might go in.

The other place I tried was the newsgroup triangle.general (& maybe triangle.wanted; I can't totally remember). I got a few responses, but no leads. Any other ideas?
