Thanks Richard!

I would like to weigh in on the "median time" thing, because my perspective is different than "I wish my time would be counted" / "it's elitist not to include everyone." This is great if you are a confident person, but two people get hurt by this plan:

1. "I am new and I wouldn't want to hurt my club so I better not go out, I will definitely reduce our score." No, this is not me, but it would have been, five-six years ago. Well actually, it wouldn't, because I'm an asshole and I would have signed up under another club and hurt their times instead. ;) Which, by the way, is another fault in this plan - it is open to sabotage.
2. "I usually am half decent but today I had two DNFs and a spin and now I will not show my face for a year because I will be such a pariah, I can't believe I ran a 125 on a 40-second course." Yeah, I realize a median is not a mean and so there's only SO MUCH that one bad time can hurt you. But if you put yourself in the shoes of people with a lot of anxiety (most people on this thread do not qualify, so really try to empathize with some SERIOUS social anxiety here)... well, I just don't know any reason to make this person feel like a shit.

I won't personally feel the effects either way, because (as previously noted) I'm an asshole, and I am also unlikely to score in either the top or bottom 10 of ANY club (except Highland, where I might could be in both, and perhaps I shall!). But I think anything that discourages participation in an event of this size should be avoided, since (IMO) inclusion and mixing of clubs and FUN! are the primary goals.

Yes.... but you are still a woman. And we here at THSCC hate "Ladies"..... ;)

I've got nothing to add to this, I'm getting too old I guess. My plan for the NCAC? Drive, have a good time, meet some new folks and drink beer....pretty much in that order. I have yet to understand what good it is to get everyone spun up with FB drama. I'm done here....

I find it pretty humorous about the 'sanctity' of the club cup scoring. When I started it was top PAX + top RAW.

When NCAC started each club would designate 2 events in their schedule as NCAC events. Then it was Highlands SCC, Triad, Tarheel, and CCR. So it was 8 events. I don't remember how they scored it. Triad had to run double classes because they had their own classes and use SCCA classes for NCAC. So then it was more of a championship series rather than 1 event.

Most of us liked the Trophy girls. Either the Hawaiian Tropic girls or our own club members that did Trophy duty.

The NCAC in its heyday had no "club trophy". The idea was to determine state champion drivers in their relevant classes. When that died, someone came up with this club trophy BS instead. I vote to kill the thing.

The 2015 NCAC Committee has adopted the following By Laws for all future NCAC's. If you have any questions or concerns please contact one of your NCAC Committee members.

Each Club will appoint 2 members to srve on the NCAC Committee . This Committee will have final say over any controversial decisions .
Each NCAC Event will follow the basic Sups from the SCCA National Tours
All SCCA Classes will be available , Classes may be combined (ex Ladies to 3 Paxed groups) but must be represented .
Course Maps , Grid and any Class Changes must be approved by one appointed member from each Club .
The Club Cup will be determined by the Top 10 highest Paxing members times each Club , lowest total win .
The number of members counted may be reduced with approval from the NCAC Committee .

In the past the Club Cup has always been the Top 8-10 in Pax from each Club ..This had been determined by past NCAC Committee's as the easiest , most fair and least likely to be manipulated formula . This years hosting Club would like to average the Pax from EVERY Club member present for each Club . This was rejected in previous years because it was easily manipulated by having slower drivers chose not to drive or not to choose a Club affiliation . It was even discussed that a Club could easily bring their better drivers and ask their slower drivers not to choose an affiliation . The past Committees determined as stated it was an easily manipulated format and also alienated some of the drivers who were proud of their Club affiliation but would opt not to choose an Affiliation so they didnt hurt their Clubs score . The current NCAC Committee would like the NCAC Members in put on this format.

Need to re-name NC Autocross Championships to NC Bus Underthrowing Championships.

WHAT "2015 NCAC Committee" ?? Is this something our officers are party to? If not, find out who is the ringleader of this "committee" and send him/her the bill for the site rental. (OK, I feel better now)

I still think the shot clock is a bad idea.

I'm with your Rodney. Wish I could make it this year (I think). Being old allows me to tune out and pay zero attention to all this stuff I suppose, especially since I don't have a FB account.

I've very much been an anti-Luddite in the technology world my entire career, heck even since first starting programming in 1971 on a DEC PDP8, but the current social media bubble isn't something that's attractive to me; however, I am impressed that a company like FB can convince a billion people to turn over their most private information, pictures, etc, FOR FREE in order for FB to monetize all of that information for massive profit...that part of social media engineering is actually amazing.
