Lol, good times. To be fair, Les Davis is the original party room instigator.

Yeah but it was my room. That was the night I didn't make it until the aftermath

Hey guys how is NCAC planning going?

I hear there are 12 pivot cones and 3 stop boxes on the course. There are so many pivot cones they can't use big cones for the start and finish. We're having to send the cone condom's out for alteration.

Remchak, I hope I've given you something to work with up there.

Special order small cone condoms...

I think that was the NCR president.

In this case, I deleted it. I am more than willing to listen to constructive criticism, but comments that lack any contribution other than to rip on THSCC will be deleted and the poster contacted personally by me.

I agree, it was a good move. It was just a stupid useless comment that didn't contribute anything.

In Adam's case, he actually had some good intentions in the comment believe it or not, it just didn't get across that way (he and I talked privately afterwards about it).

I really don't know anything about the capabilities of what you can and can't do within the FB interface around managing groups. Is there anyplace withing the THSCC FB page that you can use to list the rules for acceptable behaviour? I assume the only place is the group "Description" field. Which for us is currently...

"Just another online gathering place for THSCC members and guests."

Its already been discussed in this thread (I think), and I suspect we all are on the same page, but the FB group should primarily be the clubs social media "face" and not a home for posts that don't help the club (spam, hate, non-constructive criticism, etc.)

I participate in a few other motorsports FB group. One of them that has a large readership (and some level of bickering) and has a number of rules listed in that same field. My suggestion is that we create a list of simple rules that keeps things positive and spells out when and how moderation may happen. So that way if someone has their post deleted at least we can point to the rules as to why. It also gives clear guidelines for the admins/moderators to use. At the moment, while things happen to be quiet, we are leaving the door open for criticism if we moderate anything (be it negative posts, or dare I say it... grid girl photos). It may not make everyone happy, but I would also error on the site of allowing vs. restricting content.

I am not trying to stir the pot as I know some of this might still be raw nerves for some. I am also willing to help formulate any rules.

Richard

In the case of these deleted posts, I think they understand why, and if they don't, then they do from my private messages. Definitely a good suggestion, but I've got other things to worry about right now.

In the off season, we need to continue to migrate away from the "group" and over to the "page" environment, but for purposes of this last event, we wanted to make sure to reach the "group" as well. We can lay some ground rules down once we complete that transition.
