I just want to let everyone know that I will be leaving NC and the club soon. I have accepted a new job in Seattle and I have to get my house sold and packed and to the other coast by the end of May. This is a bittersweet parting for me since I've been involved with THSCC for going on 5 years now as a member/officer and I've learned a lot and met some amazing people who I undoubtedly will keep up with in the future.

In terms of THSCC business, Rodney Wright will be taking over as club President for 2014 (4 more years, 4 more years  ). Rodney is our most recent President and is still much in touch with our current sites and lateral involvements (TRSS/EV Challenge, etc) and I have no doubt he will continue leading the club well to complete its 50th year.

I will be attending the 5/10 autocross as my last event so I hope to see a lot of you out there!

-James

Congrats James. Hate to see you go.

PS: If the remaining really fast drivers also want to move away, that's OK too.

There are two places I couldn't imagine living, one with constant rain or constant cold. I've visited Seattle, as I was there for work for three weeks and only saw the sun for FOUR HOURS....total! I was offered a job to relocate there and I told them they didn't make that much money at the US Mint.

So congrats on the new job James...err...I think. :P

Except for the fact that it rains 8-10" more in Central/Eastern NC than it does in Seattle every year  .

Looks like the Continental DW will be my new 'race' tire though (in addition to DD duty) :).

Congrats man. It's a bummer that you're leaving the area, but for this opportunity, you'd probably have to be an idiot to not do it.

A constant drizzle vs. a down pour...I'll take the down pour. When I was there they payed baseball and soccer in the rain.

So does this mean I have to announce myself at the meetings?

I am looking forward to helping out for the remainder of the year, but that said I have no plans to carry this over to next year. For those of you w/ presidential aspirations, now is the time to start thinking about next year.
