Except for the fact that it rains 8-10" more in Central/Eastern NC than it does in Seattle every year  .

A constant drizzle vs. a down pour...I'll take the down pour. When I was there they payed baseball and soccer in the rain.

I'm with this guy.

From wikipedia: "It is cloudy 201 days out of the year and partly cloudy 93 days."

Its not the amount of rainfall totals, its the lack of sunshine. Congrats though James, I'm sure the pile of cash they are sure to be throwing at you will help you deal with the lack of sunshine. Gonna miss you man.. oh wait, I moved away myself.. nevermind. :)

BUT when it isn't raining it is a beautiful area to live.

Do you have a stat on the number of days is doesn't rain there?

Not currently. Before requesting the California to RTP transfer in 1985 we went to a LIBRARY and looked up the stats in a BOOK. Kelly is a Librarian and the internet/Google weren't available.

Unfortunately we didn't realize that severity of some storms and hurricanes. :( :( :( :( :(

We would use Google to find the same info now if we were considering moving from NC.

FYI there are a lot of great autocrossers and racers in the Pacific North(wet). Plus there are lots of other outdoor activities that I'm not interested in. One issue is traffic due to the layout of the area. Similar in some ways to the SF Bay area.

I would like the best of California weather, Seattle views and politics, Midwest concrete autocross sites, NC prices, and THSCC people. Guess we will stay here and LIKE it . . . :D

It appears many of our club members are going west.We actually wanted to move north from San jose,to oregon or somewhere. But the folks there did not want someone from silicon valley, taking there jobs.So we moved east to NC.Where my father is from originally.San Francisco I guess would not go well with teh club. The cooler weather helps when climbing the steeeeep hills in downtown San Fran though.IF it was hot like NC or LA,that would be a real workout.
Beautiful area, logging is the major job there. The Deadliest Catch guys often vacation in Seattle or Oregon, then fly north to Alaska.SSCC, Seattle Sports Car Club, I can see it now.Have a good journey .Computers are really blowing up again James, Some rock bands have started from Seattle.
