I'm starting my annual trek to try to speak at some of the other car clubs in the triangle. I've already contacted both the BMW and Porsche clubs to try to get some talk time at their meetings to promote THSCC. I have the mustang meeting to attend next week, so I'll talk us up again there as well. I invite others to do the same. I'm hoping we can get some drivers to come out to our events and have participation on the up tick for 2014.

Sorry if this is already covered, but there is a new Pro-Touring style regional class debuting this year called CAM (Classic American Muscle). It indexes at 0.830 and has a fairly wide range of allowed modifications suitable to the PT cars that may be in the area. So bring it up as a way to have "their own class" to run against each other if you go to the specific domestic Marque clubs.

Jason Mauldin turned me onto this nugget this afternoon. I can definitely bring it up as an alternative class to autox in. That said, will THSCC embrace this class for 2014? Right now I see this is in draft mode and there are basically no restrictions on how much money you can spend in this class. Wow, this is a clear and present danger to having to file chapter 13 at the end of the year.

Right now I know I'm going to get my a$$ handed to me in STU running against 5.0 mustangs and subies. My year of mustang is not that competitive, but it is fun to drive. Like I said before, the only person I'm driving against this year is Jordan and he damn well better beat me this year. It's time....

Since it's a regional class there likely won't be any real National level attention paid to it, but it provides a new or additional place for these accomplished gearheads and their impressive machines to come out and play without being SCCA'd by the classification scheme. I, for one, have a ton of respect for the ProTouring movement and the attention to detail and modification of these cars is inspiring. There are a few that come out to CCR events and they are so cool to watch!

With Jason Rhoades behind it, I bet it gets plenty of National attention in 2014 and beyond. Here is his build for STX that was moved with the new rules to STU:

Start at the beginning and work through it. It's a long, but fantastic read on someone who knows what they are doing and likes the period correct aspect of the car.

This is the same guy that broke the mold that the '89 Civic Si wasn't the only thing that could win ST (formerly STS) at Nationals in his fully prepped S13 240SX. - AB

I'm down with adding this class to our offerings....it'll be the least controversial classing change next year given what the 'Street' classes and our PAX Tire/RT clashing will likely result in :).

I am on vwforum.com. I am gonna try to scare up some more folks, I got in because we have the flog now. Or that is what we call the golf ball,
anyhow, them and of course my subie freinds.Rallycross should be good next year, but as always more people is good. Also, I wanna do like 1 or 2 track days this year too.Cant be too greedy, because I only have so much money, I am working now, but i am not rich yet.Anyhow, best of luck scaring up more support.Anyone going Sandblast, maybe we can scare up some more rallycross folks from the rally community. There is like one or two rally guys that came out to our events last year.It was fun watching them in their reallllly fast rally cars go at it .

I've posted up on the BMW faceplant page, contacted the Porsche club and posted on the mustang club forum pages about the upcoming 3/1 autox and the 4/5-6 HPDE. Links were provided, so hopefully we'll get some additional drivers from the posting.

If you are part of any local club or know of other clubs, please hit up their FB page or forum and let's get the word out that THSCC is ready to drive in 2014. I have myself invited to the BMW March meeting to talk up the club. Does anyone want to go to the Porsche club and speak to them? That's usually a pretty big crowd.

I'd really like to see our numbers go up at events considering the cost is going up. More drivers is less entry fee for all of us...

I've hit up the following clubs this evening either on their FB page or via web contact to let them know about the first autox and HPDE. Once we get the schedule solid, I can forward the links....

Piedmont Classic Chevy
Tarheel Tiger GTO
RTP corvettes

You guys know of anything else local?
