Saturday, December 7, 2013 6:00pm @ Bill Ellis BBQ

It's almost time for the BIGGEST event of the year, the Tarheel Sports Car Club Xmas Party!!! THSCC members and their guests are welcome.

Come out to the world famous Bill Ellis BBQ Convention Center in Wilson where we will present the 2013 year end trophies and summary of the autocross, rallycross, and track programs, as well as a peek on what to expect for the 2014 season.

Dinner will be the traditional catered BBQ, price will be $10 per person for buffet-style dinner served at 7pm, and as always be sure to bring whatever Tasty Adult Beverages you'd like.

You will also have the chance to purchase THSCC memberships, discounted season passes for 2014, and tickets for our top-notch Raffle Prizes which will be given away throughout the night, so be sure to bring your checkbook or a wad o' cash. Season passes make a great gift, too!

In the past I tried to drum up some support for the Eastern NC Food Bank and we've had some decent success w/ that over the past few years. Will we be supporting that again this year?

Rodney, we can support the Food Bank. Noah posted about it on Facebook.

-Prize Raffle (1 ticket for $5 or 5 for $20)
We have some pretty good raffle prizes this year:

Ubiquitous blue aluminum racing jack (1.5 ton)
18V 250 ftlb Impact gun
Set of metric impact sockets
OBD2 scanner (get excited BMW folks!)
4x Jack Stands (given away as set)
2x 24" breaker bars
Few pairs of mechanics gloves
Year long Autox Pass
2x individual Autox Pass
1x Rallyx Pass
Track discount certificates

Also we're working on some Apex racing stuff/discounts, and service certificates with Janko and maybe some Karting certificates at Rush Hour or VIR.

We decided to forgo the 50/50 raffle in favor of cash/check/food donations to the NC Food Bank.

How serious is the "adults only" rule? We have successfully bypassed the security mechanism on her ankle bracelet, so my wife is fleeing the jurisdiction for the weekend and I am left with my two children. They are 11 and 13, unlikely to be emotionally scarred by anything (they are my children, after all), and reasonably well behaved (you may have seen them at the monthly meetings, where they successfully resisted the urge to fling feces or otherwise disrupt the meeting). I would like to attend the dinner, but will have to miss it if I can not take them with me.

Feel free to bring the kids, Roger. I think as long as we make sure only Adults are drinking Adult Beverages then we'll be fine. :)

I would say something about things possibly not being age appropriate, but you're the guy who bought a bus and painted FREE CANDY on the side. I think the worst it gets is when people are cursing at the two people who wind up winning every single raffle ticket.

Didn't Roger's kids see him taken away in cuffs before? They are probably immune to his shenanigans by now.

My daughter was very excited to see the police come take me away. She couldn't wait to tell her friends about how she watched her dad get arrested. My son was completely disinterested as long as he got to take his Nintendo DS with him to the neighbor's house. They have been regaled with tales of my days as the Pizza Hut bandit and getting shot by Maylaysian gun smugglers, among other adventures over the years, so I think that it would take a lot to unsettle my children.

Yeah, I'm going to guess his kids will come pre-scarred and they aren't going to see much more that maybe 3 deer humping.

First one I'll miss since 1999. :( On the plus side for the rest of you, without me there, there should be more prizes for everyone else to win. :)

The one and only meeting I have ever attended was with my 8 year old daughter. She was way more impressed by the Mac-n-Cheese.

If ya'll ever decide to hold this shindig somewhere other than VK's backyard................

If ya'll ever decide to hold this shindig in my backyard, I still won't come but it will be convenient to throw Bud cans at everyone..............

Fixed that
