I think Jonell also had a fairly optimistic result when he has his bone stock Mazda 2 dyno'd, as well as Les being on the healthy side with his bone stock NC Miata.

My car is about where I'd expect it to be taking into account the cam being off. (If I could hold that 125, or at least most of it to 6.5K I'd be right where cars with my level of prep end up)

Dustin, first thanks for putting this together and working with me to get both vehicles dynoed. There is definitely something going wrong with your car, as I stated yesterday my '96 with just and cat-back made 107 whp, yours should be at least a few more than 110 I would think unless you've lost compression somehow. Have you done a check?

FWIW, my bone stock '96 Miata put down 110whp so Dustin it sounds like you definietly have a problem.

imho the lrr dyno reads on the high side, my se30 showed 162hp at the wheels a few weeks ago which is 5-10 hp more than i think it's actually making

Are you sure you aren't discounting your exhaust mods too much, in my world of merican' V8s, picking up 15 hp from an open exhaust is quite normal.

I'll second this. Our B18s dynoed higher than expected (125 stock / 148 cammed) but the peak torque figures are in line with other dyno charts I have seen for similar engines. Both cars have cat-less open exhausts with mandrel bends which I assume allow them to breathe better at higher RPMs, hence the higher peak hp numbers.

It seems to be quite well accepted that short of a full headers/high flow cats/exhaust upgrade, the S62 doesn't really appreciate straight pipes like you'd think. I do still have factory cats and some Borla resonators right after, then straight pipes, and I'm not sure that would be quite good for 10-15hp, but in any case, the absolute numbers aren't what I'm looking for - just a relative number, so it's all good.

The tune wasn't a dyno tune? I plan to order intake/exhaust for the Miata this week, once I get those installed, I'd be up for another dyno day.

I need to confirm I actually fixed whatever was wrong with my car so I'm in for whenever the next one is. Car isn't seeing track time till September though so I'm not in a rush.

I sent the tuner the dyno chart and high res a/f chart. They did their standard AlphaN tune and modified it for my dyno results. Car feels incredible. I've never felt it this strong, well, maybe in winter when the air temp is 30 degrees, but it pulls like never before. I want to see the difference on the dyno. Again, not numbers, just curve shapes.
