Correct?

If so that's like 2 min from my daughter's recital and I can maybe hang out a bit longer ;)

S2ks were made for boost. Stock internals can handle a surprising amount of power.

Really?!? That is like the exact opposite of my impression, I thought 11:1 compression ratio was inherently boost unfriendly. Its been a couple years since I looked into this but when I was looking for S2K supercharger setups I was seeing prices upwards of $7K and rather unimpressive results particularly in the torque department.

Thanks! I split them up like last time, for the tweaks I'm assuming you will want to do. :-) Let me know if this isn't a good assumption.

Yes I'm becoming a boost addict.

Supercharger or turbo? I was looking at the Kraftwerks SC kit. Looks pretty nice. Most of the turbo kits require you to move the battery and a bunch of other stuff.

I really want to try one of the stroker kits. Supposedly Inline pro has made a 2.7 kit that can get 300hp at the wheels.

EDIT: If I can get my car back together I might be able to get there by 1300.

"One of the stroker kits" I have to laugh. In the Honda world not only can you get any imaginable part, but even parts that have a limited market and are expensive to produce have multiple players. A stroker would be very nice and all things being equal would be my first choice over boost. After all, theres no replacement for displacement.

That should be good. I'll need to get them both in in the first few hours though.

Ouch, for some reason I was thinking these guys were in Cary, this is gonna be tough to drive back and forth to get both vehicles there.

Let me just chime in here as a former boost junkie. If you want 300whp repeat after me, JBAC, Just Buy A Corvette. You get 300whp right off the bat with any C5 with no hassle of finicky aftermarket parts and torque in spades. Sure, it weighs a bit more than and S2K but makes up for that in other ways. Nothing beats normally aspirated power delivery from raw cubic inches and the amount of money you would spend buying and S2K and boosting it will put your ass in a factory produced reliable 405 hp 400ft-lbs of torque machine, just talk to Mark Barnes and save yourself a bunch of hassle and headache. You can thank me later.

That version doesn't do it for me and I don't want a corvette.

Have you driven a C5Z06? I simply can't imagine someone driving one and not wanting one, badly. I looked at the S/C kit your talking about and the stroker as well, it does appear that the S/C kits have come a ways since I looked before, they are working some tuning magic to push that much boost through an 11:1 compression ratio motor, but your still waiting until 5000 rpm to get 200wtq and it peaks at 236, regardless a 350whp S2000 is going to be stinking fast for sure. How well does the rest of the drivetrain hold up? I thought the rear end was a weak link in an S2K. Oh and you realize that a stroker kit isn't exactly a bolt on correct? ;-) It is impressive they can stroke a 2.0 to 2.7 and make it work, that's a huge percentage increase. Regardless, in either case your talking at least $6K above and beyond the purchase price of the car and therefor likely very close to the asking price of Mark's Z06.

Marcus, you helped out with my car some and gave me that sponge bath in the hospital, so your entitled to a fun run or two, you should probably take me up on that before you spend $6K boosting or stroking your S2K. Did I mention it starts making 350wtq at 3000 rpm and increases from there?

Great dyno day. The car has a little less power than I was expecting, but not bad. Three runs 153.24 HP @ 6,650 rpm was the best. What did everyone else end up with?

At the end of 4 runs I had 127.8 HP and 124.49 ft*lbs.

Not sure which part of my Dyno sheet is correct though. It almost looks like I have reverse VTAK (yo) with my torque going from 125 ft*lbs at 4,600 to 115 at 5,000. That and it sounded like the spark cut was kicking in at around 6,800 RPM instead of 7,400 like it should.

I'm very happy with my $700 junkyard motor. 189whp & 183ftlbs in a 2600lb car. :-)

Big thanks to Dustin for pulling this together!

203 whp 139ftlb I think I might have a bigger pipe welded on to the resonator. I lost almost 14hp when they had the sniffer in the tail pipe.

And I won the loudest car prize

I'll post the before and after for the Buff Beer car. A simple .5" change to the exhaust gave it +14hp a month or so ago. I saw this afternoon that Roger had finished the modifications -- it's a ricer fart can now; nice an' loud! It might not have much power (the old motor sure didn't), but it'll sound like it does. It'll be at CMP next weekend.
