OK, after some debate as you've seen, we're now going to try meeting at Randy's Pizza off of Miami blvd. This is near the old Rudino's where we used to meet. Stephen has talked w/ the owner and they will have reserved seating for us. Stephen also validated their hours and we'll keep our same meeting times for now, 2nd Wednesday and we meet at 6:30 to eat, meeting at 7:30. According to Stephen, beer sales stop at 8:30, lights out at 9.

Randy's info is located here....

http://www.randyspizzartp.com/

See you there...

I just thought I'd be the first to say that I hope we'll make Randy's Pizza our new *home*. I'm anxious to hear if Randy was satisfied with the increased business, and if he had any negative feedback from his other (non Tarheel) customers. Also, was he OK with being there until 9ish?

I'm not a big pizza/beer gal, but the salad was huge, fresh and good. Everything that I saw food wise looked good. Being able to get there in less than 45 minutes without serious traffic was certainly a plus.

Thanks to those who worked it out for us. Hope others agree.

Things I like about Randy's:
pay as you order......they seem to want to cater to us....and of course I like the location.....the turn out was large....we weren't bothered by other customers.....and of course I like the location.....the food was good....did I say I liked the location???

$9.99 pitchers EVERY DAY! It's buy two pints get two pints free...no brainer to me if you have a buddy that wants to share a beer or two with you (or a buddy who rooted your DroidX for you and had to debug a crappy microSD card ;) ).

I like the location and the people at Randy's seemed to cater to us quite well. I hope their feedback of us was as positive as our feedback of them.

+1 for Randy's. That location is the best I think we're going to find and the food & beverage choices are pretty tasty. Btw, at one point last night I counted 45 of us.

+1 for Randy's. I think the order & pay upfront thing is best for our meetings. Then when the meeting is over people can leave or socialize & not worry about the bill at that point. Also, what a great turnout!!! I think that was more than we have at the Christmas Party sometimes. Fun night. Reminded me how Bowie said the club use to have ~60 at every meeting back in the day.

I'll have to agree, this worked out well. We just need to get Matt and Brad to speak up, hard to hear them ;) So kudos to Randy's for having great food, cold beer and great service. We're set to meet there again next month. I would like a volunteer to call them a few days before our next meeting to make sure they know we're coming.

Rodney,
Will you be calling Randy for feedback? It will be interesting to know if he was cool with everything. Now that we know, it might be a good idea to mention to everyone that when we clean up, to use the trash cans that they set out for us. That was actually pretty pro-active on their part.

I go there for lunch almost every Wednesday, so I'll let them know when we will be there.

Actually, I don't know if there is a "Randy". I spoke to the manager in charge last night and he seemed pretty pleased though. The original guy I set things up with, David, wasn't there last night but I'll ask him next Wednesday when I go in.

Randy's is a great place to have our meeting. Add another endorsement. :)

One thing, though - that place typically closes at 8:00PM. I heard tell that we were supposed to be out of there by 8:30, which I don't think we even got close to. Are they okay with us being there until nearly 9:00?

Stephen had talked to Randy's and their hours were adjusted. They lock the doors at 9:30 w/ last beer at 9:00. I think they were OK w/ us being there that late. I'd imagine Stephen will fill us in later next week when he's had a chance to talk w/ them.

I forgot to report back yesterday. No issues on their end. They appreciated our business and looked forward to seeing us next month.
