IF we can't find a place that will deal exclusively with us.....Why are we even considering them????Does everyone like the hopping from one spot to the other???? AFAIC it's a pain in the ass. I personally don't care where we ultimately wind up, but I'd at least like to know it's in the same place the same day every month. The Bistro wants to cater to us as long as nothing else happens in the area.. So they're out in my book. If we don't find a steady venue to hold meetings we'll lose attendance.

Exclusively? Not sure what you mean. Every place I've talked to wants us to become a fixture for them. And yes, bouncing around sucks. I can't make the ultimate decision for the club. I'm the prez, not the dictator. I'm trying like hell to find a decent spot where we can hold the meeting in nice surrounding w/ good food. Didn't really dig spending my weekend going from place to place.

Bernie, am I hearing you volunteer to find us a home?

My concern there is if ANYTHING gets schedule at the RBC center, it' get's crushed....

True. Did you talk to them about that?[/quote]
Exclusively means a similar arrangement to what we had at the Golden Coral, IE. we pick a day each month and they have the room reserved for us. Unless I misunderstand the previous posts it appears that the Bistro is more than happy to accomodate us unless something better comes along...so why are they even being considered?????
And If you need help finding a place, ask and I'll look around this area for a restaurant with a meeting room.

So do we really want to meet in the same place every month? I've thought about it, and I've decided I don't really care, as long as it doesn't suck, and I don't have to drive more than an hour to get home afterward. Only drawback of moving around is really that neither we nor the restaurant management really know what to expect.

What do y'all think?

why not choose a location each month that corresponds locally to where that month's AutoX or RallyX is being held?

Please. I'll take any help I can get. I was wondering if anything has popped up at the old Rudino's on Miami. That really was the perfect place considering all the BS we've been through trying to find another location.

Rodney,

Thanks for spending the past weekend looking for sites. Not the way you wanted to spend the day, I'm sure! I like the RH&B idea, and am looking forward to monthly 'cue.

Randy's will take us if we can move the meeting time to 7 (they close at 8, but said they would stay til 8:30 for us). Pretty darn close to the Rudino's location, good beer, similar food. It's got my vote over everything I've heard so far.

I'm sorry, but I'm still not a fan of this location due to the open environment and now having to change the meeting time. Randy's had great food. My underlying concern is other guests. I mentioned this to the wife and she said as a patron of the restaurant, she wouldn't want to listen to a meeting. We'd be forcing our meeting on other folks wanting a nice quiet dinner.

If the club overwhelmingly votes for Randys, so be it, I'll relent and we'll go, but until we've looked at other options, I'm still not a fan of holding the meeting at Randy's.

I'm going with Stephen on this one. Randy's is easy to get to, pay when you order, decent food, etc. The fact that they usually close by 8:00 PM suggests that they don't have a huge dinner crowd. Besides, it's a pizza and beer joint. How quiet would anyone eating there expect it to be? It's been rare that we ever met later than 8:30. It's mostly just hanging around to talk by then. Last time we hung out outside for a bit. If we bring 30-40 paying beer and food guests into the business, what owner in his right mind would mind staying a little longer to make more $$?

Thirding this one. I really liked the meeting we had at Randy's. Other people hearing our meetings sounds like a problem for the owner and the other patrons. Hell, we might get a few extra members out of it.
