BTW, the acoustic problems at Tyler's didn't just apply to having conversations during the meeting, or hearing whomever was speaking, it applied to conversations before the meeting's start as well, it was extremely difficult to carry on a simple conversation with the person sitting across the table from you when everyone else in the room was trying to do the same. The first thing I said when I walked in the room was that it wasn't going to work very well for this simple fact. Its a shame because I loved the food/beer selection and a problem that could be solved pretty easily with some carpet on the floor and some acoustic ceiling tiles.
Manchester Grill has a nice banquet room. Unfortunately, according to their website they have some of the same restrictions we have encountered at other places,
minimum purchases/ordering in advance/signing contracts/limited menu/one check for everyone/etc. Maybe they would be willing to be more flexible if someone called them?
Lynwood Grill didn't have much info on the website, so I gave them a call. They do have a meeting room that will accommodate 40+ folks and the guy that runs it is supposed to call me back. Its convenient for me to stop by after work, so I might do that today.
