2010 Bus Day - Feb 27 - Volunteers needed

It's that time of year again...
It's time to clean and organize the bus for the upcoming year.

Executive Summary:
What: Bus Day
Date: Sat Feb 27th
Time: 11am - 4pm
Place: 612 W Chatham St, Apex, NC :lol:

for the visually impaired
The club will provide pizza and beverage.

I am planning a bus day for Feb 27 from 11am-4pm.

It will be after the 1st RallyX so as to not dirty a perfect clean bus. The AutoX'ers will appreciate that.

TO DO - CLEAN AND ORG

Bus floor mop / deep clean
Bus clean windows in and out
Bus interior wipedown / clean
Bus interior organization / labeling / go through all drawers
Trailer interior organization / labeling / go through all boxes
Trailer interior vacuum, mop, wipedown
Trailer exterior wash
Timing equipment sort
FRS radios - check all, toss bad, order new

TO DO - MAJOR PROJECTS - NEED OWNERS?

Swap rear tires so that one new and one older on each side.
Test bus batteries + acc battery - replace if needed
Leaking roof panel? Source is speaker bolt holes in emergency exit
Install solar panel to charge display batteries in trailer.
Repair back door

Create club contact list for wall or booklet.
Polish headlamps

Don't know if these are what you would use or if this is even a good deal. And being that it is a woot off, you would have to buy them in the next 30 minutes or so probably but....

I think Keith has agreed to finish building out the new remote PA system, but as far as I know, Rob Harvey or Keith has the equipment. Last time I talked to Rob about this, I believe I understood the old system was scrapped or re-purposed for building of the new one. Mike may have the old giant speakers still, but not the rest of the equipment. I think rob had something else (smaller) in mind for the speakers

I'm still expecting work on the bus Saturday.
Not as many volunteers as we would like, so we will just try to get done what we can.

I'm a "maybe." At the moment, I'm on the hook to help a buddy of mine up in DC. He may yet be able to convince his wife to help him instead of dragging me up there, but that's not my decision, nor is it his. Wish I could be more certain.

If I end up not going, of course, I'll be there for the bus thing. I'll take some of the cleaning tasks. I like cleaning things. :lol:
