I'm going to be trying out RallyX for the first time at the Aug. 1st event, and I've been told my current set of tires are old and ready to pop any second, with cracks and dry rot. I don't know if I'm going to stick with it, and so don't want to buy a second set of wheels and tires, but also need some new tires anyway, and don't particularly care what kind they are as long as they're going to last more than 30,000 miles. So, what's the harm in picking out some everyday street tires that wouldn't be too bad for RallyX?
Kevin Allen generously spent quite a bit of time last weekend looking over the car and installing some new used performance struts, but the tires he recommended don't come in the right wheel size (15"). The two tires he recommended are in the "ultra sport" all-season category on tirerack.com, but when I tried to buy a 205/60/15, tirerack.com called me saying I really shouldn't put those tires on a Forester since the weight carrying capacity was so much lower than the recommended combination of 205/70/15.
The problem is all of the tires in the 205/70/15 spec are in the on/off road category:

Not knowing what I'm doing, the on/off road tires seem like a fine option, not only because they come in the right size, but "off road" seems to fit RallyX more than an all-season sport tire.
Any help would be appreciated. My order is on hold with tirerack.com, and I want to get these installed before the Aug. 1 event.
Thanks!
