When are the times going to be posted? Not trying to rush anyone, but I wanted to see how I faired in the new LU2 class. ;)

Our webmasters are out of town this week. :whoknows:
Hopefully later this week or early next.

Results are up. Sorry for the delay. I have a question or 2 out to the veeps, so if things change I'll post back here.

I put the wrong DNF time in the results, so there will be some changes, notably in SU2 and SO2- sorry about that. Also some DNWs getting added to the wall of shame.

Marek, how was the Audi? I almost bought it for Rallyx (I figured any car with an ABS-bypass switch and a diff-locking switch from the factory was destined to rally) but I'm glad that someone is getting some good use out of it!

I bought the Audi along with Marek from my brother. It seems like a *big* improvement over the Subaru Loyale we were running. Seems like the only drawback is that it's heavier - that old, stripped-out Subaru is light.

The main things the Audi needs before the next race are:
1) Replacement for the worn out street tires. I picked up some used Rally tires for it tonite.
2) Skid plate. We ripped the stock plastic "skid" off on the last run of the day (and this was "only" at OCS, which I think is by far the smoothest course we run). The cast aluminum oil pan hangs low, and a bunch of hoses are vulnerable underneath, so we'll be adding an aluminum skid.
3) Valve cover gasket - it's leaking bad enough that the smoke/smell is annoying. Bad thing is that the upper intake manifold has to be pulled to pull the valve cover. If it wasn't leaking so bad we probably wouldn't spend the time to fix it. :)

OK, fixed now. We discovered a little fact about the scoring process along the way, so it shouldn't happen again. Maybe if they paid me more this whole ugly incident could have been avoided... :boohoo:

What Richard said.

We took it easy on the car, especially in the morning, I think. This event was a test drive, really -- we wanted to see how the car does before we made any mods, keeping the option to turn around and sell it. It passed the test, so it's a keeper. We're planning to lighten it up as much as possible -- there's a lot of stuff that can be pulled out.

This is funny coming from a driver of the "Chattanooga Choo Choo"!

That *IS* funny! I guess the difference is that the Choo Choo just sprayed the oil smoke up in the air, while the Audi is leaking it all over the engine, making everything all nasty. Plus we never drove the Choo Choo on the street (legally) - the smoke didn't seem like that big of a deal at the track, but I don't like pulling up to a stoplight in the Audi and having smoke come out from under the hood. :)

That's the other nice thing about this Audi - we are keeping it (barely) street legal. I drove it to work today because my wife's minivan is in the body shop after getting hit in a parking lot. I think it's good for the car to be able to drive it "normally" every once in a while, rather than only getting run hard for short periods of time at the track every couple months.
