Those of you who got scared away from today's event because of yesterday's weather missed a really fun time. The courses were fast and challenging, the weather was perfect and, of course, no dust! It was pretty slick for the morning heats, though, and it required discipline to get through quickly.

By afternoon the course was drying out nicely, and the non-SU2 heat got some really primo conditions. Since there were only 30 (or so, not sure) drivers, the day went quickly and by 2pm it was time for fun runs. The course was so much fun I had to try it in dry conditions, and it was blazing fast! I admit it would have been nice if we'd had dry conditions from the start, but hey, it beat staying home.

I see Chris just sent me the scoring file, so I'll get results posted as soon as I can.

I had a blast. And I didn't mind the slick track. :)

Thanks again for a great event!

Thanks to everyone who came out today.

The course was a lot of fun and got better and much faster as the day went by.

Brian Herring did some great driving to set the fastest time on both courses and take the overall win.

it is with some deep disappointment, to say: i wont be at the rallycross on nov 15. i will be at canaverel.. looking at hte space crawler.. which is harsh for me to accept, cause jerome did a great job on the car(our injector pump works again). if i had not done so poorly in the afternoon i would have had a raucous time... oh well, the fun runs were awesome. and i have never done so many scandinavian flicks in one run b4. what a go eh? i beat dad. if you dont count the DNF! D'OH

I stayed up late and forgot to set the alarm. Woke up about 10AM. Sounds like I didn't miss much, from the description of the slick conditions. I just don't enjoy skating around like I'm driving on ice; I'd rather have some grip. Besides, I don't want that much dried mud caked to the bottom of the car when I replace the clutch.

At least Brian kept the 2wd cars in their place. :D

It was a little slick in the morning, but the good drivers handled it well and it improved with every run. The afternoon was very good.
The course design was great and fast. I had a great time and glad I drove the 2 1/2 hours to get there.
Thanks to those who made it possible.

I definitely need to do more of these, hopefully with more practice I can drive competently from the beginning rather than when its too late. When you do finally get it right, its a hoot. Thanks to Chris for letting me drive the beater, FWD really isn't so bad once you get your brain wrapped around it.

Big thanks to the organizers. That was the most automotive fun I've had in a while.

Anyone take pictures or video? We got some low quality video from inside the "Flying Coffin" -- would be curious to see the outside perspective. I got some of the SU2 cars, too.
