Another excellent event at Four Oaks!!! I love how the course always holds some new surprises despite similar layouts. I think we're getting the permanent course "broken in"..

We really need an event for august...

I liked the afternoon course better, 'cuz we get to go faster! 8) And it's not as rutted, except for the entry and exits into the back section, and they've taken on a whole character of their own.

Kevin, can I put in a request to have some grading work done there, particularly on the 2 tighter (morning) turns, where the passage of cars has now shaved them down to about 30 degree off-camber corners? Either that or figure out a way to move the course so we get to drive on the outer berm as we did entering the back in the afternoon, and some of us did leaving it in the morning... thanks!

It's funny how the ground seems quite firm in some places and soft in others- I don't think all the ruts/holes are from the way the corners are placed. Regardless, those 2 sections on the morning course (entering the crossover, and coming out of it just before the finish stretch) were nasty, abusive, and no fun. Just one man's opinion, but I think it's time to retire those 2 pieces of the field from active duty...

This was my first rallycross, and I must say I had a blast. I rode along with Carl on several of his runs. I think I was most scared in the afternoon on the really fast sections of the track  . More so as Carl's passenger than when I was driving. It was really helpful to see him drive. I probably would have posted much slower times if I hadn't seen first hand how he was handling the car. The delayed response on turn-in really does take some getting used to compared to autocross.

its good to hear, that we did not monkey it up. it would have been an amazing honor to run at my own rallycross. hopefully we will make another one work soon enough. this is a video i found.. proof that Guthrie's belong in dirt, cause we like it..

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aSPZwFxngRQ

its a man named bobby Guthrie, on a lawn class pulling tractor in Fairfield North Carolina. I need to go to the next one, it would blow that guys mind i think.

I'm glad to hear all the positive feedback. I too had a great day. The course was a lot of fun and challenging as well.

Unfortunately there were a couple of mishaps:

Mark Hoerath's Subaru transmission lost second gear.

A member of Team Bovine is gone... For those who knew her, Pole Dancing Barbie, who has participated in events for the last year and a half is no longer with us. She held strong on the pole, but the forces on this course were just too great for her. All that is left is an arm and a leg. (hmmm... It usually cost's an arm and a leg)
In her memory, I'll leave you with this thought...
"Barbie doll" rearranged is "Babe I'd roll" and "I'll bare bod"

Cool. Sorry I won't be at RWV though. Didn't you say you had broadband now? You could always use that FTP site I set up for you... contact me offline if you want the instructions again.

BTW I think this is a first event in a looooong time that the General Lei was absent from a RallyX event. :nana:
I know I know you were off having fun squeezing lemons.

Hey, I actually tried to locate the General late Saturday night so I could run it but no one would respond to my PM's.

That's too bad as it was sitting there in the field.

I was guessing it was, but didn't want to blow $25 in gas just to be wrong.
