Results are up!

A beautiful day, and some fun, challenging courses! Temps were warm and a stiff breeze kept any dust well at bay.

Congrats to Eric Adams for taking me to the woodshed (uh, again... ) today!

i apologize for my not being there.. i hurt myself playing with my dog, and working on my car. at least now it will start reliably..i was laying under the car, with the dog leash in one hand.. and watching dad work on the car with the other, hes alot better with electrical then i am. she saw (my dog) my neighbors dog.. and they dont get along well, she barks at the other dog alot ,though mainly because the beagle barks nonstop.she pulled the leash taut, and my arm hit my head.,, and my head hit the ramp the car was on, putting a nice one on the left top corner of my head.. medical adhesive is holding it shut.. therefore i cant wear a helmet on my head.. i can make the next rallycross. funny how the name was grand theft rallyx.. I own grand theft auto 3 and GTA liberty city stories on ps2. I beat the story mode of GTA liberty city, almost there on GTA 3.

Man, it's dead in here for the day after an event! No one's got any comments?

I had a great time! The course was good and the weather was perfect. Thanks to Ash and Crosby, the VPs, Kevin for his grass cutting and grading. Thanks as always for Christine for lunch!
It did get a little bumpy in a few places.

My bruised brain is still recovering.

It was another great to to be out and enjoying the sport. Thanks to all that came to support the club. I hope everyone had a good time. It was another challenging day and as always the top drivers still show us how it's done.

Lesson to be learned from the office of the VP: If you go to the pits to repair your car during your run group, PLEASE tell the Event Chair, VP, starter, worker coordinator, OR announcer. The officials don't know that you need to come back to complete your runs. We will give you a 10 minute repair time, but we have to know you need it.

See y'all next time.

That was a hoot! I'm finally beginning to get the hang of this at least on my last couple runs.

I for one was really having problems with the afternoon course. For some reason I just could not judge the long fast right coming out of the keyhole and nailed the outside cone at the exit on my first 2 runs.

I'd be interested in knowing what people were doing who thought they made it out of the back section successfully. I'm guessing the answer was "slow the hell down"... I blew my plan there (stay tight inside) 3 times out of 3, in different ways each time. I thought I saw Kevin there shooting 1 of those times, I shutter :brow: to think what he might have caught!

I did hold back from full throttle after the tadpoles. I left myself some throttle to straighten any wag as I apexed that sweeper.

The key to the back section was being tight and controlled. Enter the banked left at a speed that would allow you to exit on the inside of the turn, well inside (about half a car width) the trackout cone on the right. Then you brake enough for the next turn so that you can just barely hold the car in the edge of the grass on the inside of the turn. Perfectly smooth, and it's a straight from the bush on the left to the entry to the snake. Sooooo many people just threw the car into each turn, running over the trackout cone in the middle, then ending up out in the undulations in the second turn, bouncing the car a couple of feet into the air. Maybe that's their idea of fun? I know there's no way in Hell I would do that with my car, or with some car that's barely hanging onto life, because I like my car, and I don't trust a POS to not lose a wheel and roll end over end into the woods.

As for the sweeper exiting the keyhole, you get behind the tadpole cone, get over to the left, then nail it, with just a little lift at the middle cone in the slalom to wag the tail right/left, then it's full throttle past the last slalom cone, and maintain a speed that keeps you in the edge of the grass on the right. As you near the 3-cone slalom, you move out a little to the left and just tap the brake or lift or whatever as you pass the first cone, enough to nail the throttle again as you're passing the middle cone.

Also, I got lots of cool pictures, and I plan to give Carl a CD with photos from the Danville event and the rallyx. I'll have it with me at Sanford.

So... did anybody actually think the (intentional) jump was the most evil element encountered yesterday? I know the Subaru guys' fears were put to rest. And I noticed the Corolla with the big lights on the front found some jumps where I would've never expected any. (its dampers were completely useless)

Thanks to Kevin and Christine for the hospitality. The courses
were very fair and fun. I think Kevin's course set-up can
officially be trusted from now on. We're lucky to have such a
knowledgeable person who lives next to a really good site!
Thanks to Cosby and Ash for their V.P.ness.Also congrats
to Adam for kicking our butts! Must find more speed........

Kevin, if you can either post a photo page up to your personal site, or FTP the files to THSCC.com, I can grab them and put them up on the website before then. You're not still on dialup, are you?
