I'll be chairing the May 12th rallycross at BMW farm and I'm looking for a
co-chair or co-chairs!

First time or experienced event chairs are welcome. Come see what it takes to put one of these on. Setup will be on Friday the 11th so here's your perfect excuse to blow work off and come play in the dirt.

Anyone interested? Carl F and I are planning to go out to BMW farm in Clayton this Sunday afternoon to look over the fields -- apparently the one we usually run on may not be available so we get the challenge of scoping out other areas.

I can help out if you need it. I can't be there this Sunday but I can be there for the setup day.

I'm planning on bringing out my scales the day of the event so anybody who wants to weigh their car is more than welcome.

Hey Jim that would be great, as long as you promise to help design a CRX-unfriendly course :)

It would be great to get another inexperienced "event chair" - anyone interested? We promise we will take it easy on you :)

FYI, time is closing in on the date for the dash plaque artwork. I need it in my hands by May 3rd.

Dang, I was hoping to see nothing but tight slaloms. :D

I'm bummed that it will be my last RallyX of the year.

Anybody that hasn't helped set up before really should come on out if they can. It will give you a different perspective on the events and can actually help you get better.

If I show up and it's nothing but tight slaloms, I'm going home. So if you don't want me around, I guess you know how to get rid of me.

If someone is not already working on the dash plaque I will be happy to help out. If someone has a design concept for it but just doesn't have the time to do it I can work with that or I can just wing it.

I can also help to set up the course on Friday May 11th as I am taking that week off work. Someone just needs to tell me where the heck the "BMW Farm" is.

FYI for everyone, basically anyplace on the website you see "BMW Farm" (or "Four Oaks", or "Laurinburg-Maxton Airport", or any other of our event sites), you can click on the site name to bring up both general written directions and a Mapquest location...

Also check out this Sat map - it's recent, and you can see the markings of one of our last courses:

OK, nothing but tight slaloms it is!!! :P

But seriously, as much as that would probably favor the CRX, if I saw a course like that, I'd probably be headed home too.

Simple. I'm tired of all the beatings. I spent literally 3 times as much for my RallyX car as I did for my AutoX car and I've got nothing to show for it. I keep trying to improve but I just don't think it's getting me anywhere. I figure, hey, what's the point in continuing, right? I thought about adding a turbo and some big mud tires to help but I think the real problem is me. I just can't take it anymore!

See, I really need one of those t-shirts like you have! Maybe I'll trade you your shirt for my bling'd out yellow stereo? Then again, I may just paint the AutoX CRX to match the stereo and call it a day. :D

But really, it's just scheduling conflicts. Event #4 is the same weekend as the DC Pro. Event #6 is the same weekend as the National Championships. Event #7 is the same weekend as the SE Div Championships. I'm on the fence with Event #5. There are a couple of other AutoX's that weekend I'd like to attend but I really like the OCS site so I may change my mind. I'm going to try my hand at building a motor over the summer for the RallyX car so if I get it done in time, that may push me over the edge. But given my current mechanical skills and the likelihood that something may go wrong, I certainly wouldn't bet on it!
