Thanks to everyone who took a chance on short notice and a slightly sketchy weather forecast to came out today! Needless to say, after a gray and somewhat threatening start, the day warmed up and become sunny and beautiful. Ahh, December in North Carolina, walking around in T-shirts... :-)

Anyway, we had 40 drivers, 12 of which were in the "Non-Street Tire" classes, which gave a pretty god test. And although we certainly developed some bumps and ruts, they didn't seem much worse than "normal", if at all, so I'd say we are definitely GO for allowing rally, snow, and knobby tires at both our sites for 2006.

The courses were fast and fun, and extra long- the morning course had an interior loop, and the afternoon course used an extra section of field (the part behind Kevin's mom's house, for those who know the site). The event ran quite smoothly- there was no dust, and although the rain last night had made the course quite slick in spots, there were very few DNFs or cone penalties.

All in all, it was a great way to end the season. Thanks for all of you who came out and gave the sport a try this year, extra thanks to you die-hards who came to every event, and special thanks to Kevin for all his work this year- between site prep, course designs, ordering portajohns, and taking and posting photos, he's been a really busy man!

We are looking forward to another great season in 2006, and we will be working to finalize and post the new season schedule in the next week or two.

Thanks again to all!

It has been a great season. I wish that I started running the events back in February and didn't wait till April to run. The Legacy ended the season on a high note by finishing 2nd out of 13 in SO4. Thanks to Simon and Kevin for suggesting I come out back in April. See everyone next season.

Thanks Carl and Kevin and everyone for all the work. I really enjoyed being back, despite debeading a tire for the first time and having to skip runs 2 and 3 of the afternoon. You all have gotten good and I've gotten rusty! Time to try to step it up a notch!

Oh, thanks also to Steve Remchak, whose air compressor I used (without asking) to re-seat the rally tire that I de-beaded on my last run of the day!

Much thanks Steve!

Thanks for putting this together at the last minute guys.

The ole' Dirtmaster takes a lickin' but keeps on tickin'. Although Charlie and I coughed up a HUGE lead to the General yesterday afternoon. It was still fun. Hats off to everyone.

I will be praying for a nice shower in the morning before every event now! 8)

I just wanted to thank both RallyX Vps for a a great season of Rallying, and doing a SUPERB job with course design and helping to keep these events running smooth all year. Great job, and great leadership, guys. :)

Now, we just need to get Mike Whitney to buy and RS and beat Kevin ;)

PS. Bring on the POS class -- the Legacy is ready ;)

Thanks for coming out to play, everybody. I had some help with setup from Keith Strassel, Chris Sewage - I mean Suich  - and Cosby Wood (who got sick Saturday night and couldn't race on Sunday). Thanks guys, and thanks to everybody else who helped with setup on Sunday morning. You make it a lot less stressful.

Sorry there were no dash plaques or trophies, but it was all thrown together at the last moment, and I've been pretty busy with other things lately.

I've had a fun year of this, and I'm looking forward to next year. :D

Maybe. I like poking fun at everyone and stirring the pot when necessary. ;)

The secret...come prepared with all your rain gear (as I did) and it never rains.

A really good turn out especially considering the short notice. I'm glad to see the program growing in popularity. Now we're getting other people from Virginia and Natoinal champions to come and play. 8)

BTW, Brian you should have been there to see Bob Ward show what an STi was made to do...run at WOT with all 4 tires spinning in the dirt! Now *that* was a show! If I ever get Randy Melton into RX the rest of you (who have never seen him drive) are in for a real treat. :)

The afternoon course was especially fun with the new section Kevin added. The bonsai-style finish was the perfect touch to the course too.

I'm definitely one of the die-hards. I haven't missed a THSCC RX event yet! Come to think of it I've made it to all the THSCC events (AX, RX, and HPDE) except one this year.

Hats off to Kevin and Carl for all the work they've put into the RX program this year. It's getting bigger and better every event. I can't wait ti start it all over again in 2006.
