Just a reminder that we're having our event this coming Saturday in Four Oaks. We've got the courses set up now, and we've retained the fast, flowing nature that made the last event so much fun! We've also left the grass tall on the sides, so course walking and visualization will again be critical to fast times!

As usual, we will be breaking after the morning runs for lunch, and Christine will be grilling hot dogs and hamburgers (thanks Christine! :D ). A lunch consisting of either a burger or 2 dogs, a bag of chips, a drink, and a dessert will cost you just 5 American dollars. Can't beat that!

Event info, including times, prices, directions, etc. is available online at
http://thscc.com/rallycross/events/2005 ... 7info.html

Event registration is here:
http://thscc.com/rallycross/prereg_rallyx.html

Hope to see some of you there!
Carl

And it's been raining out there all day!!! No Dusty this time, just Subarus (and a bunch of lesser cars). Hopefully we'll have a water splash or two.

Sweet.. the Legacy made its change from 1WD to 4WD JUST in time :)

Too bad I am going to miss it. :(

Do I still get to be 'Event Chair at Large' for the event? ;)

If the rain keeps up past today, then we may have to make an impromptu visit to see how the mud holds up under a drift!

Hmmm... go to the meeting vs. go home and play in the mud for a few hours... :?

My cars are going to be soooooo covered with mud when I get home.

Hey, if I play around a little (ok, a lot) it will help the water mix with the dry dirt better, right? So I'm really helping the course conditions for this weekend!

you have never seen what a big hole looks like, until you have gotten a bulldozer stuck in mud, up to its bogey wheels, with mud on the arms connecting the blade, to the frame of the tractor, past ankle deep..
i was backdragging a bit of the mud on our site, to help in drying it, ie: if the dirt is flat to the sun, and there is no rain... then the sun will dry it out better.. and there was a ditch to the left, less than a foot deep, but the dozer was slithering around, because of the mucky conditions, and b/c i was going backwards.. and slid into it, then, as i tried to back out of it, i buried the right side, then,i tried just going back forwards, really getting hopelessly stuck.. then i had a great idea,( i'm new to this heavy equipment operator stuff) lift the blade, so it wont have any load or anything on the tractor, and it should climb right out.. and it did, but i had a monster hole that i later had to come in from the side and fill in.. tracks are great, but they can make a big mess..

till next time,

lets git dirrrty...

If you don't go to the meeting, I'm going to hate you sooo much. Well at least till tomorrow when I can get out there, if it's still muddy.

I'm packed and ready to hit the road Friday after work. If it rains too much and this thing gets called off,  will someone give me a call. I will not get back to my computer to catch any updates.

(864) 230-4947.

Thanks.

You might have to watch your third place with the Legacy all set and ready to go. You probably actually have nothing to worry about as I am only down about 80 horse to you.

Well, the tractor's cooling system appeared to be busted on Sunday, since it overheated and spewed coolant out of a newly-cracked hose. Checked the oil level while monkeying around with the hoses yesterday, and there's chocolate milk in there!!!

My mom is contacting Nick - the guy with the 4-wheelers - since he's a diesel mechanic, but it ain't going to be running this weekend. We have plenty of shovels and rakes, though - so eat your wheaties, folks.

How much rain did you guys get out there. Are we having a water splash  or is it just going to be a damp surface with no dust.

Just damp dirt, no water splash. The dirt feels great - grip is good, no dust. :D

But I didn't even get to play in the mud Wednesday night because I was so busy doing other things. :( Hopefully it will rain sometime next week, before the ruts are repaired.

Hey Kevin are you running the FXT tomorrow? I saw on the prereg page that you and Christine switched the car running from the RS to the Forester.
