Good news! Registration will open shortly for our first Rallycross at Rockingham.

I have also been told that plans are in the works for TWO more events this fall at Four Oaks, probably on September 25 and November 20. So now is the time for all of you people who are thinking about "procuring" a car for use to start shopping around! My suggestion - find someone with a tow rig and offer a co-owner deal like we did with the Corolla - works out great. I will also be pushing to make sure that the 2005 THSCC schedule includes 4 or 5 rallycross events and a season championship.

Details about Rockingham:

So we got the go-ahead from Rockingham to hold the event. Anders and I
will be chairing it.

Now we're going to need everyone's help.

The site fee is higher than we have been paying, and we need to drum up some support for the event. Therefore, we're going to offer a "referral discount". Regular entry fee is $35, but if you get someone to participate who has NOT been to one of our rallycrosses before, your entry fee will be reduced to $30. Just tell the person at registration.

We really need to get 40 people to break even on the event. Friends, co-workers, etc are welcome! And if you plan to come, and are willing to rent or loan your ride, let everyone know!

With so much room to play on, this event is going to be a lot of fun. My goal is a pair of 60-80 second courses. :)

I'll post back here when registration is open and more details are available.

Online preregistration is now open for this event. I also made up an info page, but please take it with a grain of salt- many of the details are still up in the air. Check it periodically, as I will be updating it as things firm up.

A couple things of note for this event:
  • No passcode required! This event has open registration- tell your friends!
  • Due to the much higher site rental fee, we are bumping up the entry fee by $5, but we also want to get at least 40 entries (see below for incentive).
  • Only for those who have rallycrossed with us before, we'll knock $5 off your entry if you bring along a friend who has never rallycrossed with us before, and we'll extend the same discount to the friend. Limit 1 per customer. :-)
Pre-register at http://thscc.com/rallycross/prereg_rallyx.html now!

Links to the event info is on the club calendar and the rallyX prereg page, but if that's too much work you can just click here.

Hey Mike, did we ever find out whether they'd have the concession stand open?

Sorry I haven't been around to answer questions - been entertaining Kendra's family this weekend.

I'm checking on concessions today!

Hi y'all,

A few final updates for this weekend:

WEATHER - we have ordered mid-80s weather for the weekend. There will be no extra charge.

FOOD - CONCESSIONS will be open! Everyone patronize them if you can! We want them to make money so they will keep opening for us!

HOTEL - We have a special rate (ask for THSCC) at the Hampton Inn in Southern Pines. 910-692-9266

WALK-UPS - we will accept walk-up registration, since the event isn't full. Don't forget there is a discount if you bring someone who has never done an event with us before!

Any questions? Gate opens at 7am on Sunday, coursewalks can start at 9AM.

See everyone there! This is going to be a blast!!

And there will be a beer drinking/ trash talking session poolside at the Hampton Inn Saturday night. Who's going to be there?

Hey Mike,

Any feedback from Steve or others at R'ham management on how it went from their perspective?
