All the excitement about VIR shouldn't make you miss the fun in Wilson this Sunday. The weatherman is promising heat, so come prepared with a big hat and plenty of cool drink.
If you happen to have trouble with MSR, send an email to rally@thscc.com, let us know you are. Coming and you can get in for $35 exact change, or $40 if you don't have exact change.
We need your support, and you need a rally-x fix.
If you would like to help with setup or bus logistics please email (as listed above)

looking forward to it.

if we do get a little rain i'd actually be happy. it'll soak in super fast and get the surface nice and packed.

See y'all on Sunday! My car is finally fixed and ready to go! The high powered fuel pump somehow managed to crumple the gas tank a few inches from too much suction, so hopefully it won't blow up on the way there.

Did you fix the venting issue, Michael?

I must say, I have never heard of a gas tank denting from the inside.

I've taken off every hose I can find running to and from the tank and checked for blockages, and replaced the filler neck and gas cap, but can't figure out where air gets in the tank as gas is consumed. Later model cars seem to have a vent valve, but there doesn't seem to be one on this older model.

Any ideas where the darn thing gets air into the tank? I wonder if it has a special gas cap? I replaced it with a cheap simple cap which was quite a bit different than the old one.

Make up air comes from the carbon canister that is part of the emission control should be under the hood. All the fuel vapors are sucked into the intake, but if the tank needs air it should suck from the canister.

The charcoal canister is behind the right rear tire on Subarus

I'm guessing Cheeseburger removed that, though. If you remove it, you have to put a filter on the vent line to keep dirt from getting in. There are lots of threads about it on nasioc, etc.

Our rally car doesn't have all that crap, and my STi will soon be without it.

Looking for a co-drive in SO4, the Forester has a mechanical issue that will prevent me from running.

Weather Gods are smiling....for now.
Drew and Ricky are camping at Wilson Fairgrounds and will call early tomorrow morning to let us know if we are still a go. Things were pretty wet off the gravel portions (except for our one chicane near the bus/light pole), but we have a fast flowing course laid out and are good to go unless there is a heavy rain tonight. Forecast says that we have already had the "one possible storm" before Pete and I left Wilson.
If you are preregistered through MSR then you should get an email early tomorrow indicating that we are still a go. Our plan is to run if at all permissible. Wilson has asked us not to run if the ground is likely to rut heavily like Fayetteville did earlier in the year.
Cross your fingers and do your anti-rain dance and come on down to play.
Charlie Guthrie

You're welcome to drive my car if you can't find an S04.

The Bug is sick. It looks like the modern electronics that replaced the points and condenser have gone out. Cannot get replacements at your local auto parts store. The one modern component on the car, and it goes out!

However, I still have 'arranged' a two wheel drive, under 2.5, street tire vehicle, so I will still be in class. I think that either Jeremy or Courtney will co-drive.

Question for everyone: 'Are you faster than my co-driver?'

Hello all,

Unfortunately we have to cancel today's event. It rained overnight here in Wilson, and the soil just isn't up to the task of 200+ rallycross runs.

We apologize for the late notice; we really wanted to hold this event seeing as we already came down here and set up an awesome course, but I won't do it at the risk of losing one of our best (re:only) sites.

We hope to see everybody next month back at the dirt oval in Fayetteville!
