We're getting excited about our upcoming event on that huge hunk of flat land. This could be a great first timer rally-x. We are going to try to make the course long and relatively flowing for some drifting action without being so tight that we dig deep ruts (wish us luck with the course design).

We are trying to gauge interest in doing a Saturday night race night since they are running at the track the night before our event. Depending on where you live this could involve an overnight stay, but there is a campground less than a mile from the track (they hate Saturday night races), but the noise won't keep you up if you are at the track. If you are interested in getting together for the race post here. We have asked the host if overnight camping on the course is OK, but we have not heard back yet.

Time to start planning now. Dust off the pollen and get your dirt racer ready (right before heading up to NCCAR for the auto-x).

Regards,
Charlie Guthrie

I'm confused... are you asking if we'd be interested in have Saturday Night RallyX as well; or just spectate at the Sat night race?

I'd be interested in a Sat night RallyX. More seat time!

I believe he was asking if people wanted to go down Saturday to watch the dirt track racing. The dirt track is right next to where we're racing, so that is probably not practical.

I thought so too. Charlie's all concerned about "safety" and stuff, getting in and out of that area :-)

The parking lot is deep sand, though, and not particularly fast.

in! trying to get some other friends to bite the bullet too, since this is probably going to be ride-height friendly.

dude, what a weekend for thscc and the Guthries. For one, we slept in the bus which was not comfortable. Two, we got to see a dirt track races. I had not been to a dirt track in a long time.Good stuff, Then we had a awesome rally cross! Fayetteville is a place we will return to as well. For the club is welcome I understand.
I really liked it, the place is huge, the car is great now. And the surface was awesome.Great folks there, I wanna go back. 8)

Sebastian and I gave the guys that were spectating a few rides.

I want them to build an FC RX-7 rally car *so* bad, but I suggested they start with a SOHC Neon or something.

I remember one cat, saying "this is the slow class?" after riding with me in the su2 nissan today. I told him im in the less fast catergory. In the sentra su2 car.
I told him im the slowest class, which it is.And I gave him quite a ride in the sentra.I cant recall his name, long long day for me and dad.But he had the black miata for autocross and all. I told him I have been doing this for many years, which is true. He asked me and all the others many many questions, as we put her on the trailer. It looks rusty, but it sure can run.

Great site and event. That was a fast course. I think it was about a 1/2 mile course in 40 seconds (~45MPH average). That seems too fast but it's not too far off. Perhaps someone has some in car video.

Thanks to the Guthrie's for camping out in the bus and spending their weekend at the raceway to make this happen.
