He called me yesterday, wanting to race while he was in town on business:

------------------------
I'm Jonathan Olschewski. I am 31 years old, a combat Veteran and a die hard RallyCrosser. I'm President of the Utah Rally Group. I have been RallyCrossing since 2006. I have been typically known for driving my Yellow 2003 Nissan Sentra SER Spec-V (see attached)
I have been racing with the SCCA RallyCross program and have participated in all of their National Finals. I have made a few appearances in my alternative racing suit (tigger costume) for some laughs. I have been featured in SportsCar's Pace Setter section last year. I have had other articles also (gearboxmagazine.com)

I have raced FWD and AWD cars. once a rwd to finish an event... I have raced RallyCross in Utah, California, Nevada, Colorado, Nebraska, Tennessee, Oklahoma and West Virginia...
My latest rallycross dreation to be debuted in Utah on the 30th of this month....
Build Album
Dyno testing

I will be in Durham, NC from the 17th to the 27th. I would love to meet up with anyone during that time, but I really hope to be able to attend and participate in the event on the 24th.

I should be giving him a ride to the event on the 24th assuming the car is back together enough for me to show up! I'm not sure if the MR2 will be up for doing a co-drive with him though so I still let that offer stand with you all.

He's a great guy I've known for a few years - he lives and breaths RallyCross so let's take care of him :)

One year for SCCA RallyCross Nationals in Colorado he showed up without a car, bought one at a gas station near by for ~$200 and raced it until the transmission exploded on the track. Then he turned around and sold it! What a crazy !@#$%

Thanks Greg. If you won't be there just let me know and we'll find another ride for him.

Is there any interest in standing him for a drink before the race, say on Thursday or Friday night?

Found out today that my co-driver, can't make the event so I have a seat open. This is a new car for me so there are no guarantees on suitability.

We also have had some interest from Zach Hill who thinks he would attend if he can find a ride. I had planned on offering him the open seat, but could possibly manage 3 drivers (especially if one ran with the 4-wheel drive classes).

Also, I would be interested in getting together for a drink after work to discuss what the middle of the country is doing rally-x wise.

I'm playing single Dad this week-- any chance I could get you to come over to my house?

Were you thinking of a quiet evening at home with our out-of-town guest?

Well, yeah.

I am, however, a fair cicerone, and could provide a wide variety of rare hops-based beverages and items to consume while imbibing.

After that, I need to have a hole cut in the top of the dirt bomb. Or maybe before the beer would be better?

FYI, our Utah rally friend Jonathan Olschewski is dropping by my place after work tomorrow (Wednesday 3/20) to chat about racing. Y'all are welcome-- PM me for directions.
