Apologies in advance guys - I'm not going to be able to make it to the race. It's a combination of my own issues plus some mechanical issues that I didn't get to straighten out before the race (I thought I would be able to take care of them today, but didn't get to)
So that means Marek won't be there either.
I will post the timing instructions here, in case someone wants to print them out for tomorrow, or you can view them on your smart phone during the event. They are very rough notes that I took from watching Carl Fisher set up the RallyX timing. Marek, Carl, and I will have them cleaned up and a printed copy in the bus before next season. (I meant to get that done before this race too.)
Third icon down in the left nav menu is MSAccess. It has instructions that Emmie wrote. It would be good to print these out, because you can’t have Access open at the same time as TS98. (both apps want an exclusive lock on the file.)
If you have downloaded the registration file off the THSCC website, name it prereg.txt and copy to thscc\runevents\ts98auxilliary directory.
THSCC\run events\TS98 is where the TMR files are stored go on the RallyX laptop
THS98Auxilliary is where to find prereg.txt
Start TS98 from left nav bar (top icon one)
Do File/New solo II to create event
Create new event, then close the window
The file should always be called newevent.tmr. When race is complete, copy it to a new folder and rename. Don’t get rid of the original newevent.tmr – always leave it there for the next event, at which point it will be saved over.
If you use shortcut when creating new event, system will ask if you want to replace it, say yes.
Then close TS98, then open Access again and choose Import (delete old entries and import new)
Then choose button for Append Import Entries into TS98. Any incorrect classes, it will prompt you to fill them out.
No need to click any other buttons in Access.
Close Access and open TS98 again. Open the shortcut to the newevent.tmr, and you’ll see the registrants.
Can double-click on class name to create a new racer. Calvin icon is person’s name, Car icon is car info. Can also use $ icon. Then Save. Cone icon will show times later
Now open watch Icon from left nav for Time Queue. Always make sure “Connect to Timer” is checked.
Test timer to make sure times now pop over into Time Queue. *You must use the straight serial cable for the timer, not the one adapted to USB.
In TS98, go to File/Configure, change from “display driver entry form” to “display time entry form”.
In TS98, double-click on racer (or can do “Find Number” to find by number and class, which is pretty neat when you see Carl do it, because it avoids mouse if you are within the same class).
Hit T to pull in time from timer. Hit +1 (or whatever number) for cones. Type “D” for DNF, then need to use Dispatch Top button in Time Q. (or can hit T to take the time, then delete it and hit D) Then Alt-S is “Save and Return”
“Print Results” in TS98 is autocross results, so DON’T USE IT!
Instead, when ready to print, close TS98 (can leave TimeQ up) and open the 5th icon in left nav, which is Print Results.
Do the following in Print Results:
- Bump Class? (select No)
- Is this correct (select Yes)
- Hit the RallyX Results button
- Hit the Change RallyX DNF DNS cost button – set as however many MINUTES (like 90 sec is 1.5 min)
- Hit the Real Rallyx/Class button runs class report
Can Save report as RTF or PDF, but DEFINITELY email Carl the newevent.tmr file. Sometimes the report has the wrong FTD, and it doesn’t do the red highlighting. Carl will do that.
Webmaster@thscc.comAfter lunch, reopen TS98, File/open/newevent.tmr. File/Config/time entry form
(never have to save the file in TS98 – it is updating Access all the time)
TS98 will only take 6 runs. Do NOT enter practice runs.
In TS98, Can use Delete key to delete incorrect runs. Can also hit Insert key to insert a position for a new run. And of course can edit existing times.
