Well, what fun was that. That was slippery and rough and deep as i have seen. The steam and smoke as from a radiator hose blew.. Then we also knocked a hole in the oil pan, when we put her on the trailer it let go and puked on herself.. but we shut it off, the minute it was on the trailer minimizing the damage. As long as the bottom end is ok, we assume it will be ok to be put back together. We have another oil pan, that we dented but it works.. We just need to bang it back out, and put it on the car.The hose was from a bad rear motor mount failing.. And allowing hte motor to move and rip the hose off. The oil pan hangs down low and is easy to damage, given our heavy feet driving style, that is easy to damage. Not our first oil pan, eventually we will find a way to put a damned skid plate on her. Replacing oil pans is getting old. The ground clearence helped, as did the tires.. The car was running great until the end.. Then it went out in a blaze of glory! The old black bmw was notorious for weak motor mounts, killing the radiator hose when the fan cut it.. And blowing huge plumes of steam everywhere. We eventually put 5 series mounts on her, and cut the hose in half, put metal in the middle, and put it back together. Making the hose harder to cut in half with teh fan.Now the engine can oil starve, not one thing its another. Oh well! We assume we can be there for the next rallycross, we just need to go into her, and check things out.Till then.. everyone come out so we can play!
