I did get the new muffler installed on the General Lei as promised. It not stock quiet, but it did tone it down quite a bit.

The problem is I can't go (I asked) because it's the wife's birthday. Kendt can't make it, and I'm unsure about Marcus, Stephen, and Mitch.

I really hate I'm missing this one because Wilson is an awesome site. :(

that sucks! hopefully someone can use the car. lol

thanks for working on the muffler. I know there's no way anyone can tell until the car is actually at the race, but at least you guys attempted to quiet it down. i dont think we can not make you race even after you guys did try to throw a muffler on. and the same goes for anyone else. if an attempt was made, and its not super loud, its good by me.

btw are the magnets going to be shipped or will someone in wilson bring them to the race?

I'd drive the general, but I'm gonna be a "stunt driver" in a "movie" instead. :D

Morning course is almost the same layout as last time in the AM, but with some tricky stuff in the first part courtesy of C Gast. PM will be similar to last time, too. Very fun, very dusty. Come prepared for both.

Also, this may be our last chance to play there, so if you're thinking "I gitchoo nextime" you'd better change your mind about that and get your ass to Wilson tomorrow. I'm getting a sinus infection, and was thinking I'd probably set up and play today then stay home tomorrow, but with this news, I'm not going to miss this.

See ya...

A big thank you to Jeremy Gast and Kevin Allen for a fun and really fast course. No need to shift to third gear in SU2, but it was wide slap open in 2nd. As at any event there were comments regarding the course setup (me included), but Kevin made sure that the course flowed well and was safe enough for the less experienced drivers in attendence (Though some may need a fresh pair of whities).
An even bigger thank you to Marcus McRae for loaning the General Lei to yours truly. During my first fun run in the Dirtmaster, it would not shift out of 1st gear. It appeared that the rear engine mount had let go and dropped the rear of the engine/transmission because the shift lever had moved rearward. Gladly that turned out not to be the case. The engine mount was still good, it was just the back side of the transmission case falling off. "Gladly" you ask? Yeah, we knew that the case had a crack because it had been leaking oil, but we bought a donor car on Friday that has (supposedly) a good transmission. With any luck we can get the DirtMaster 2000 back up and running before the next event.
I have to say that the General Lei is a pretty good ride, but I was disappointed that I couldn't borrow it and beat the SE-Rs that were in attendance....couldn't even beat Marcus. Those General Lei drivers are fast...and I am, well, slow.
Great event. Let's do it again.
Bowie Gray stopped by at the lunch break, did anyone give him a ride? We may need Bowie charming the local establishment if we are to continue to use this facility.
Regards,
Charlie G

Thanks to all who came. and a big thanks to all who helped clean up the course and help with the ruts. you know who you are and i dont want to leave anyone out, so ill just say an overall THANK YOU.

hopefully wilson county will think twice and give us a chance there. our sport doesnt leave land in perfect condition, and they were aware of that when we ran last time. Dave (the manager who THSCC deals with) is awesome and is doing everything he can for us to stay. Ill keep you guys updated. In the meantime, please help find more land. i know its not easy, but if you see a huge parcel sitting there for lease/sale. call them up and see if they'd be willing to let us race on it, and we'd be paying them $$. Its not as easy as that, but heck it doesnt hurt. especially if its land like wilson has that needs to be developed. we can do ahead and tear it up for them

see yall next month
