I'm in, with a different engine with new gaskets, seals, engine mounts and a new clutch!

Hopefully she holds together a little better this season :)

That sucks! You can drive the Laser.

The guys with the race Cherokee didn't get their shocks delivered in time, so won't make the RallyX tomorrow. I've gotten roped into doing stuff around the house, so won't be there either. I hope you guys have a great time, and hope the rain holds off until you're done!

Les, Mike and I missed the rallycross. First, my wife was in a wreck yesterday, but is only very sore. An 80 year old man on O2 ran a red light and hit the right front of her minivan. He was in a small 2010 Honda and didn't even brake. She had just started up from a light was was going 15 mph or less. She saw him at the last second and was able to turn left a little, deflecting the impact. Both went into the oncoming lane, but no cars were there.
Second, the Laser was ready to go and had been running normally. When we finally got home from the hospital, it wouldn't start when I was going to load it on the trailer. It has spark and fuel at the fuel filter. It cranks, but doesn't even try to start. Les thinks it might be the ECU and I am checking the MPI circuit. Any advice from any of you with DSM experience will be appreciated.
I hate missing any rallycross, but when I look outside at the hard rain, if I have to miss one this is the one! Also, I feel better staying home after Helen's accident.
I hope all goes well for those that made it and the bus gets out OK.

Sorry about the accident Walter and glad your wife is doing ok.

I think you'll be glad you missed this one. Nothing beats driving around in a soup of cow poop. Lol. It was bad out there but we tried to make the best of it.

Looks like some slow times- quite a few > 2 mins. What was the bogey time? I can't do the results till I know.

Just don't stand too close to me when you ask, because I'll either 1) vomit on you or 2) kick you squarely in the nads.

It's a funny story........now....but it was NOT funny at the time, trust me.

BTW, the "THSCC Autocross" sign got left here, again........ :stick:

Results are up. Can someone send the dash plaque image to webmaster@thscc.com please? Hint: we'll need these for every event, autocross and rallycross.

that was the wettest i have ever been. wow.. fun though.. until the alternator quit.I think it just shorted cause of the mud and water. we died i cant count how many times. But like the phoenix she rose from the grave to race again. It is unfortunate the laser was not running though i understand why not . family comes first, anyone know if a local junkyard would have a alternator for a 92 sentra ser .it is possible i may need to go to auto zone.. and get a rebuilt alternator.
145 hp on mud is certainly a challenge all its own. i hope the chevy cavalier that lost the ecu got home ok. it was connected rather haphazardly. it was fun getting around for me, reminding me of what rallying used to be like.. where just finishing was a miracle, winning was just icing on the cake. more about just plain determination and stubborness. Imagine the welsh rally or safari rally in a 2wd car yrs ago. muddy fast and rough.. and you get about what we had.. a true adventure.
more fun than you would have thought in real mud. Heck even getting home took some ingenuity.
our big white ford is only 2wd. overall i think that today was not an ordeal, but an adventure in the truest sense.. the hardiest of hardy days.

till next time, stay dirty and rally on rally pigs!

also, keep an eye out for land!
:D

That was a fun course and good use of the landscape there.

The course was quite long for BMW farm. The morning fun runs before rain were 75-80 seconds. After the 1st wave of showers, right after my fun run, my time drop 5 seconds. As I learned the changing conditions I was able to shave a few second off the times.

The afternoon was a hard lesson in patience. I was driving in 3rd gear where I could to keep wheel spin to a minimum. I should have taken Ray's advice and plowed through the middle slalom cone near the finish as evidenced by his 2 afternoon runs. The 2 second violation of that cone was not worth the major slow down to avoid because you can't turn on mud (nor re-accelerate).

Thanks to all the chairs, volunteers and VeePs who made this possible.

The LKQ in Durham had an early G20 ~2 weeks ago. The alt looked clean, but the odo had 200k+ miles on it. We decided not to go after it.
