So Kieran and I took 3rd place 2WD Light at Rally Tennessee over the Memorial Day weekend and then last weekend, with a new codriver, Marcel Ciascai, I took 2nd place Group 2 at the Finger Lakes Regional Rally and 1st place Group 2 at the Sherwood Forest Regional Rally at STPR. Had I entered the rally at the National level I would have taken 12th overall, 3rd 2WD and 1st Group 2.

Compare the Ford (Ken Block) at the start of this video with the Ford at 5:15...

Yes! Jeremy (Wager Auto Salvage) provided a JY 74K miles stock transmission for our Focus when our rally transmission failed after a rebuild. We installed is just a couple of days before Rally Tennesse and also ran STPR on it - standard drive ratio and open diff. Smooth as glass.

Yay for the THSCC discount!

Congrats. Nice work Simon!

I think there was only one of the awd guys that got that corner right.

Actually, there were 4 who got it right. There are a lot of those turns in this rally, too. That's a lot of time wasted, if you're doing the same thing at each one - and from what I saw, some of those guys are blowing every one of them.

Here's another good video to compare technique and lack thereof. This is a fun turn with an STi - btw, my girlfriend could do this better than 90% of these guys.

I know it sounds corny but the song Smooth Operator by Sade has a lyric that I keep running through my head for rally...

He moves through space with minimum waste and maximum joy.

That's what I strive for on stage.
