OK Folks, here we go again.

The next race is at OCS. Walter and Les are Co-chairing the event.
The event has a $5 price increase to make it:

$35 prepay
$40 pay at event

We would like to try to get an early start to finish up before we all melt. I know its a long shot, but hopefully we can get started before 10am. And keep our lunch break to 1 hour. We've been a bit behind in the past few events from the learning and teaching, but hopefully we can make this event flow smooth.

Dont forget the sunscreen!

please email Q's to rallycross@thscc.com
thanks
10VP

Once again, if you need me to check on the event site or anything, please let me know. This is only about 10 miles from my front door. We are still waiting on the baby (2 days overdue so far), so if I have time, I will help out.

This is going to be a fun course and it will be fun if it is a little damp too!

OCS has a big race Saturday night and we plan on going to it after we set up. Let me know if any are interested and we will meet up to sit together. I will educate you with my "Redneckedness" on the finer points of circle track racing.

Apparently its a common misperception that the track is a circle as explained in this helpful video :-)

OK, that was funny!

Lessons for you Hockey team drivers:

Circle track racing is a lot like hockey, so you should enjoy it. There is much contact and retaliation. When someone hits you it is called "Rubbin'" and it pisses you off. That is like a hard "Cross Check" and you want to get even. Rubbin' is usually from the side. Giving another driver the "Chrome Horn" is a hit from the rear and is designed to make them get out of your way.
Rough driving from too much Rubbin' will result in a black flag, like a penalty in hockey. You park while the race (game) continues without you.
There are fights too. A driver can wreck another driver's car, normally wrecking his too. Typically, circle track drivers wait until after the race to use fists. I've seen several drivers taken away by the local sheriff (ref) for fighting.
Many of the drivers have missing teeth just like in hockey! The difference is that they lost their teeth because they were decayed. Their missing front teeth could be from fights after the race or in the redneck bar. Unlike hockey, wives and girl friends often have missing teeth too!
More lessons to follow!

omg to funny Walter that reminds me so much of County Line Speedway, in Elm City. I have been known to walk on the track after the race with the cars still going and knock the F%^& out of a certain drive while still in his car. that is the reason I had to get out of that crap. Autox and Rallyx is a lot better for my health and teeth.

Maria and I would love to see this, but we're cooking a pig all day Saturday. We've only been once, but have been meaning to go back. You have to remember to bring your own beer, since they don't serve any, and bringing your own food wouldn't be a bad idea either unless you have an iron stomach. Oh, and then there's the earplugs.

Now that I'm driving a BMW I have to save my sensitive hearing for the orchestra.

Remchak sounds like a hockey player's name too. You have to drive NO4 from now on.

Lesson Two - Definitions for the Hockey Class (NO4)

Loose - oversteer. The rear of the car will try to pass the front on the right.
Tight or Pushing - understeer. The car goes straight when you want it to turn. You will either hit the wall or be in the way.
Blocking - keeping a slower car behind you by taking the preferred driving line.

If you get blocked, give the car the "Chrome Horn" and he will get loose perhaps hitting the wall. You can pass, but he will want to kick your ass after the race.

If you are tight you will be slow and in the way.

Paint from another car on your right side means you are fast. Paint on your left side means you are slow, probably because you are pushing.

Pit Lizard - Single woman who hangs out around the pits - kind of like a rock band groupie. They are incompatible with wives. They often have front teeth missing.

Is that result of them being "loose"? or "blocking" maybe?

Hey, just because I grew up in Thomasville and had a killer mullet in high school doesn't mean I'm knowledgeable about such things...

Well, there is a circle track near Thomasville and I bet you've been there. Actually, I was referencing the loose women aspect of this issue.
