Yes, of course there was a circle track near where I grew up, heck I can hear Wake County Speedway from the deck of my house now when they are running and have been there several times. I've also been working a bit on the mullet recently.

BEST course at OCS ever IMO. Fast, free-flowing, and hardly any cones. Good job Walter and Les!

Thank you Walter, Les, and everyone who made this event happen. After a long break from Rallycross I came out and had a great time.

Extra thanks to Walter for letting me co-drive the Lazer. I may not have been fast, but I was having fun. Turbo AWD DSM = Awesome.

edit- Thanks VK for making sure I was launching it right.

Add driving to your expertise! You drove great. Getting 3rd overall on street tires and flirting with FTA in a car with blown shocks is pretty darn good. Yeah, I know the crew chief gave you a fast car  and tires with "Special Stagger," but that was good driving too.

Congrats to Jeremey too. I couldn't catch him for second.

Yes, a big thanks to Bernie and the others that worked very hard in the heat Saturday before we got there. There would not have been a rallycross without their effort. I love OCS, but they really need to cut that grass the week before we have an event.

Guys - Thanks for the praise for a good course, but it isn't that hard! The biggest mistakes designers make is to use too many cones and try to force cars into a specific space. My philosophy is to define a minimal safe line. The good drivers find the fastest way around the course and the others don't. Except in the crossover and finish there wasn't one outside cone or gate. While that puts me at a disadvantage to Les, who has lost 1st twice this year to cone strikes, it make the courses much more fun.

This works in autocrossing to a degree. I think the winner should be the guy who can drive the course the fastest; not the one who can avoid cones the best.

Yeah - big thanks from me, too. That course was big fun both directions. I can't wait to see the results - I just want to see if my last run was what I thought it said.
PS - massive Benadryl doses fight off poison ivy, but don't help your focus the day after :?

The courses were great, and I learned alot. In fact, I learned so much the DIRTBOMB barely made it back to the garage :-( The drag starts with a failing clutch were apparently the last straw, and with all the junk in the car it barely made it up that last hill home.

Not having any acceleration was a great learning experience on the 2nd course on how to keep momentum going.

I'm glad most seemed to really like the course, Walter can take credit for most of it. This weekend was great fun and Walter was a great guy to work with as usual. I was really glad to finally run clean and reasonably fast, now I need to work on being fast out of the box rather than waiting until my last run, Walter should be making this easier very soon.

Thanks a bunch to Bernie for his efforts to make the event possible especially considering he wasn't even participating.

Thanks to Walter for his efforts at building the Laser into the beast that it is now and letting me drive the monster.

I guess I owe the club a new fan for the bus as I apparently decided to try and cut my finger off with one of those little fans mounted in the bus and broke off a blade in the process. I apologize for leaving behind a little blood and I think I left behind my bloody rag as well. Sorry. Other than the fan incident, my first time driving the bus wasn't so bad, no worse than towing my vette with the old Blazer other than the lack of a/c and the trailer being influenced more by wind.

i know you guys are trying to get as much weight out of the car as possible but cutting off your fingers is going a little to far.

Luckily, it was a really cheap plastic fan and the blade broke off pretty easily, only taking a chunk out of my index finger in the process, no need for stitches even.
