Thanks to everyone who made the event happen, it was a blast. Wish I could have stuck around to help pack up and clean but I had to get home to watch my daughter blow out 3 candles on her birthday cake!

It's been quite some time since I last ran (1 1/2 years? something like that)... A few observations:

- NO4 got FAST!
- Kourosh is The New Kevin. FTD, FTC 1&2. ie the guy that leaves all of us wondering how the frack did he do that? So what, Kevin, you scared? That why you didn't show? I'd love to see the 2 of you co-driving the same car sometime :)
- Dustin can always do more with less. (bastard)
- Knobby snow tires DO seem to be killer in wetish mud
- We need more women at the events. Let's keep striving for this to be a family friendly affair!
- Has the rallycross program become less novice friendly? Or was it the weather / early date / Valentine's day thing? I guess attendance was down last year too, right? What's going on? It's still as ridiculously fun as ever.
- This year's rallycross VPs look like they are going to do a hell of a job.
- TS98 is now 12 years old but still seems to do the job :)
- Whammy tubes continue to kick ass for rallycross use!
- What the hell happened to all the General Lei drivers????
- The Outback Sport is the new Spec Rallycross Car. Remember everyone --- I did it first :)

Who's got pictures?

glad ya'll had a good turnout. while i can't speak for the rest of my brethren in the General, the thought of standing in a cold wet field two weekends in a row dampened my enthusiasm. LeMons had less than ideal weather conditions last weekend.

and if you know VK at all you know the thermometer was not in his comfort range.

congrats to Mitch!!! top three, woowhoo!

and Walter too.

You are a wimp, Steve.

I was at Lemons too and sick. I sucked it up and came to the rally cross. I have 10 years or more on you, 100 lbs and a bad heart. If I can do it, you can too.

VK would have loved the course and HATED the cold. I heard he prefers to sleep with his wife more than any of us and since it was Valentine's Day, he was a good husband.

Even with the cold and mud, it was really fun.

I like david's ideas.

I forgot the gentlemans name, but he came out there with his wife and 8 year old son. He was there just to spectate because he wanted to know more about the program (and he promised his wife he would just watch :P )

and his son, well lets just say his 8 y/o son was more of man than a lot of kids/teens are these days. now thats what i call an awesome dad!

either way, hopefully he joins us. we had another father/son n00b team, the Hodgins, which was great to have them here as well.

I think we had at least 6 newcommers at this race, Pat in the integra, Phillip in the silver WRX, the hodgin guys, the 1 (or two) guys in the toyota # 111... thats all i can think of. we need more repeat n00bies.

hmmm

The co-driver of my car, Mike Miller, was also new to rallycross and showed up after winning a free admission at the xmas party. He lamented the lack of a car to drive at the last club meeting so I offered him the use of my car, although that's unlikely to happen a second time because he's so tall he could barely fit.

Michael, many thanks for the ride. Some things are worth a little discomfort. I had a blast. Thanks also to Mitch and Mike Whitney who took my son Anders for a few rides. On the trip home, Anders said that we had to get a rally car. By the way, driving a car in which the orientation of the steering wheel differs from the direction that the car is actually going in is a big adjustment for someone who autox’s a Miata. Riding with Dustin in the afternoon inspired me to plant the throttle. It made my times stink, but it sure was fun. The kink in my neck is pretty much gone, but my smile on my face will be there for a long time. :D

Ray and I saw you guys come in to the pits (we were at the bus) in the AM and we were like "whoa, who are the newcomers" and as we squinted our eyes, we saw the spoiler and the tow vehicle and figured it was you. haha.

Thanks for all the kind words and compliments for the course, I could not have done it alone and I'm glad I didn't have to

- This year's rallycross VPs look like they are going to do a hell of a job.
thank you. 8) we will continue as long as we are able.. to strive to bring out great events.. even though i fuel starved in the last corners and ran out shortly after the finish.. the toyota is alone almost in 2wd street, b/c all the general drivers went to do lemons stuff.. (traitors) anyway.. i think the event went well, no one got stuck, no one horribly broke... the toyota ran well.. until i drove it. hahahahaahaha. no tires failed.. the course came around..
it was fast as all get out eventually..good stuff.. eating a hamburger while looking at a calf is evil feeling.. i think we need to do a lifted lemons cars rallycross.. all the 2wd cars from lemons need to be lifted back up.. and rallycrossed at a event.

setup was work.. for sure.. with snow, it was hard to see all the lumps.. eventually it went away,( which is weird, i like snow) and the course became more visible.. my wrx was driven for the first time by my father, on setup day.. and he said something that i have known for months now.. the toyota and the wrx handle very differently.. each fast in their own way, but very different.Anyway,, with alot of work, good pack-boots, and some sweat.. we made a good course i think.. especially in the afternoon.. my goodness that was fast.. the kind of course the toyota likes, long open momentum course, no sharp turns and no stop start.. Lets face it, with 71 wheel HP, the less time spent speeding up and slowing down the better..haahahahh. But, even though everything we own is now muddy, we had a blast.. This hopefully will be a fun year, busy as everything for us for sure.. But hopefully a fun year.. We will do everything we can to make it fun anyway..

Cheers,

till the next one yes?
