I have a Civic that was lightly hit on the drivers side. I was going to get all shade-tree with some chains and blocks and pull it out, but am thinking that I might give in and have somebody to do it.

Are there any collision shops that are known to be friendly to do-it-yourselfers? Many of the ones that I have dealt with are pretty well focused on the insurance-job, and aren't keen on working with individuals on low priority work.

I live near Pittsboro, so someplace on this side of the area would be easiest...

Thanks,
Eric

Eric, not sure what you mean by "DIY friendly"...you can give John Jofaro a call (919-723-7000) at Dent Eliminators. they do mainly insurance work, but their guys are very friendly and have done "dent days" for the club for a couple of years. you just missed one in Oct.

they aren't gonna do it for free, or let you use their tools, but they do have good pricing and they'll come to you.

Yes, I need to clarify:
1) I don't want to do the work, but I want to disassemble the car, drop it off, then reassemble after they are done.
Most places are only interested in the turn-key insurance job. I'm just looking for people who are willing to work with me on non-insurance-payment work.

2) It is more than a dent. The B pillar is moved alittle bit; door still works, but is tight. Will need to have some pulling done...

Obviously this won't help Eric as he needs a frame pull, but I just used Dent Eliminators to repaint the rear hatch and bumper on my wife's Outback. They did a quite good job with a very quick turn and fair (but not outstandingly low) price. We brought it in at 8 AM and the car was done by 4:30.

I brought all my own parts. They weren't put off by this at all, so that's a good way to save if you have ways to get wholesale on body parts.
