Can these be rebuilt at home, or is it better to buy one rebuilt. I don't think they will be availalbe new from the dealership so that's not an option.

Hi Jason,

My "guess" would be that if rebuild kits/parts are available from sources like Carquest or Napa that maybe home rebuilding is practical. However, I have the impression that there are metal bushings that tend to wear. Also that there are some precision adjustments. My Ford Shop manual seems to allow some service of the rack but requires special tools.
