So, Miata.net says my 99 10ae miata runs 15x6. When I look on tirerack, I cant find a single rim (out of 66) that says 15x6. I can however find lots and lots that say 15x6.5. If I were to end up useing a set that says 15x6.5, that will take me out of cstock right?

also, anyone know what the stock offset for me is? I have seen 40 and 45 and cant seem to find what the correct answer is.

I know nothing about Miata rims, but it's usually all listed on the inside/backside of the rim. Take one off and check it?

from this site, it looks like they are +40, 15x6's, so you are good with 15x6 anything from +35 to +45 to stay in stock class.

Thanks,

Where did you see the offset at on that page? I was there and didnt see it. just the 15x6.

also, any idea where I can find 15x6? tirerack seems to only have 15x6.5's and 15x7's. I cant seem to find anything that says 15x6.

Jason, your best bet is to stay on Miata OEM rims, for they are very light , abundant and inexpensive. I would go with what Eric Peterson suggested and use www.car-part.com and look for some. - AB

I'm assuming they are exactly the same as the other '99 wheels, just polished (they look exactly the same).

As for where to look, you could search for take offs from other cars. I believe a '99 civic Si's wheels would work (15x6 +45). Stock integra GS-R wheels are 15x6 +38mm, so they should work. Also mazda MX-6's, and obviously miata take offs (your best bet). Mini had some 15's too, but I think they are 15x5.5's. There are more I'm sure, but you'll just have to look around.

Not entirely ture I don't think. I believe most Honda wheels have a smaller center bore than Mazda wheels. I seem to remember when Ryan had his CRX and Vincent co-drove, they tried to switch wheels back and forth between that and VK's Miata and it didn't work.

Honda hubs are slightly larger than Miata hubs, so they can't use Miata wheels without grinding.

But the other way around is no problem? or do you have to have some sort of space to fill in the gap?

I've been using lugcentric wheels for years with no issue. Hub centering rings do not bear any load, and aren't necessary.

as far as i know.. the miata used largely protoge parts, maybe parts for it are more able to be found yes?

Apart from getting another set of stock Miata wheels, the easy thing is to use your current stock wheels for autocrossing, and get whatever you like for use on the street. Then you don't have to worry about them being legal for anything, you can buy whatever you like. This is what I did with my Integra years ago, and did to start off with the S2000.

Agreed. I ran lugcentric wheels on the Honda Challenge / track day / DSP / STR (original edition) / GS Integra GS-R for a decade. When the original hubcentric rings melted at Summit Point, I threw them in the trash.
