As a new club member with zero experience with cars, putting on some used struts and buying new tires for RallyCross was a new experience. I explained the situation to the folks at Performance Chassis, and trusted since they were a recommended shop that they'd do the right thing.

The thing that's confusing is after aligning my tires they drove the car, went over a bump, and tested the alignment again only to find the new alignment was shot. They suggested I have my tie rods and ball joints inspected.

I can see that having some problems would make it impossible to do an alignment, but shouldn't that have been checked before aligning the wheels (and charging me for an alignment)? Now I'll have to pay for two alignments, as the first is worthless since the toe-in is changing over every bump. Also, they only checked the toe-in, but couldn't the new struts have also required a check of the camber?

you may not have camber adjustment available on your vehicle. i don't know this for sure, but it is possible.

as for the two alingments, voice your concern with Mark. he owns the place. and unless Mark personally did your alingment, he may not be aware of your concerns.

I had an experience that shot my confidence in Performance Chassis, too. (I think the same day as you.) They were doing an alignment and told me that both of my front tie rods were "locked up" and needed to be replaced. When I reminded them that they replaced the passenger side one just last year, the story changed to "actually, it's just the driver side one."
