After 4 years with out anything more than an oil change time to do some work on my Office managers Miata.

I need a Miata battery, will Autozone's etc fit? What about a cheap cold air intake, where is the source. Any thoughts on plugs, wires, etc.

The Autozone batteries will fit (assuming you get the right one :) ) but they are not AGM batteries like the Westco

Thanks, works out to be less than Autozone since no tax, also no freight=no problem!

Search Ebay for NGK plugs and wires. You can get a set fairly cheap there. I use the Iridium IX.

Dustin - you sure? Maybe somethings changed but I bought a Duralast at Autozone a few years ago ... model 8AMU1R

I'm pretty sure its an AGM ... had a good warranty too. 3yr replace/8 yr prorate. Was cheaper than Westco too. At least then.

Intakes are somewhat expensive in my opinion. I have the Racing Beat one that Goodwin Racing sells for $189. I am thinking about switching to something else, so if I do I will let you know.

Bingo! I just got one in December - in Danville of all places. :) It's identical in size and venting to the OEM battery. 8 yr warrenty and cheaper than a Westco from Moss.

Note: it is not as labor intensive as Autozone claims. If you can't do it in 15 minutes with a beer in one hand, OSB (Other Sports Beckon)!

I was going to put one in the Subaru last year (smaller than the stock Suby battery and would be interchangable with the Miata if needed), but was thrown off when they pulled it out and it wasn't an AGM. Dunno, maybe they went back to AGM's?

For $90 + tax the Autozone gives you more CCA and 3 yr free replacement. :)

Intakes really do not provide much bang for the buck IMHO.

It's a Miata, it will never make any power unless you supercharge/turbocharge it.
