My old mercedes has metal spark plug boots. I tend to be rather hamfisted (I guess because of my size) and don't want to brake anything. Do these just take a strong tug or do they have be lined up any way before pulling or some other over-engineered german way?

IIRC, they're just metal covered boots- nothing special in terms of aligning them or any other tricks. Just twist a bit to break them loose, then pull. if the first one doesn't come off, keep trying until one comes off easily, then you can be sure how they're supposed to work.

Gooday Mate,

I've got a 99 ML320, POC but it's paid for, rides good but has the build quality of a chevrolet. Love old Mercedes though. Look at them all the time on craigslist and Mercedes forum. I really want about a 1968 sl, so cool.
