The wife's VW is stumbling when cold during the first minute or so. Nothing is tripping the MIL. Idle seems fine. Drives normally after that first stumble.

I replaced the spark plugs in May and they have less than 5,000 miles on them. I replaced a faulty coolant temp sensor several years ago with an improved one, but IIRC that had poor idle and very poor drivability.

Where are you located?

There are plenty of 'soft' codes that wont throw a CEL but are still in there.

You can swing by the shop, in Cary 333 e durham rd, and I can scan it and let you know if there are any codes stored in there.

Beyond that, more diagnoses would require setting up an apt/etc...
