FWIW a lot of the people on the bimmerdouche forums complain about spec clutches sucking.

I am getting ready to give a clutchmasters kit a try.

Les has one of theirs on his Miata and isn't happy with it (chatter) IIRC.

I have read that chatter is a common problem with a LWF.

Yeah, I've hated that clutch for years now, just to lazy to do anything about it. If LWF means light weight flywheel, I don't actually have one of those.

I'm running an ACT clutch and flywheel in my STi. The ACT has approx 30% increase in clamp force over stock. Tough getting use to initially but after breakin I am very happy with it. It's stiffer, but not enough to notice in traffic.

Pretty much any alu flywheel with a steel ring gear set up is going to chatter. And the lighter the flywheel the worse it will be.

I just had a clutchmasters kit with a 10lb flywheel put in and so far it only makes noise when I turn on the a/c. I have to be outside the car to hear it. Sounds kind of like a deisel.

So far I am very happy with it. Maybe the clutchmasters kits don't like miatas.

Hey Kevin,

You've probably seen this page, but FM has some interesting combinations of ACT pressure plate/friction disk ...
