Update
spent yesterday swapping out my old clutch for an OEM style one. The pressure plate was almost gone on the old clutch and there was signs of heat buildup within the clutch itself, so I'm glad I ranted about this a week ago..

Still having adjustment woes, and will have to remain in a holding pattern until one stupid part comes from Jegs!!!! I decided to remove my makeshift cable tentioning system for something thats more reliable, safe and doesn't look like its cobbed together.

Of course when I when I had everything apart I noticed MORE parts that needed to be replaced, including the engine rear main seal and transmission tail bushing and seal. I think I'll replace all my exhaust bolts and lock nuts while i'm under there as well.

Jake,

Sounds like you have a good little project there. If it means anything, I have found that the aftermarket adjustable clutch cables were nowhere nearly as good as the OEM clutch cables on the Mustangs. A good quality adjustable quadrant (I have a Steeda unit on my 99) will be enough to adjust your pedal to your liking (usually).

If and when you ever need to replace that clutch again, I like the SPEC and Centerforce clutches in my two cars (with some favor towards the lighter pedal feel of the SPEC).

See you at the track!

thanks for the information on the spec clutch... I'm sure I'll need to put another in at some point..

Just got it buttoned up this afternoon, back on the trailer and home in the garage :D

I agree about the clutch cables, I'm now on #3... and have an aftermarket quadrant (replacing the oem plastic peice) and just added the fire wall adjuster, which is a very simple but effective way to get the slack out of the cable.

Everythings engaging and disengaging wonderfully....

on to the next thing thats going to break
