No hurry, but I'm curious to check something out.

I was searching through Hawk part numbers, and it appears my SVT fronts use at least the same backing plate as the Mazda 3.

When someone here with a 3 gets around to changing pads, could you hang on to a pair for me?

Thanks!

I'm 99% sure that they are different.

http://www.mazda3forums.com/index.php?topic=44405.60

At least Hawk has different part numbers for SVT focus and mazda3, and I KNOW that SVT focus pads on a mazda3 is bad. Possible that mazda3 pads work on an SVT, but I doubt it. They look close, close enough that hawk sold SVT focus pads as mazda3 pads for a while, before they realized it didn't work.

I've got a NEW set of Hawk pads that I haven't put on yet if you want to look at them sometime. Its gonna be a while til my front brakes wear out though (these things last forever, rear brakes only last me 35k, but fronts are still going at 70k!).

^^Aha! That explains the Mazda part number on my Hawk boxes.

Thanks for the info!

yeah, pretty sure that:

HB449F.679 is the Focus SVT P/N (for Hawk)
and

HB519F.682 is the Mazda3 P/N (for Hawk)

HB449F-679 was incorrectly listed as the mazda3 part number for a while
