Topic says it all. I've just got one and will give details if folks need them. Lowest price I have ever seen for these.

I believe that this is where Scott Johnson got his. Pretty nifty, I just need to convince myself that I need one.

Yup, I bought the Sam's version. It's not too bad all in all. It needs to be bled when you get it home (instructions included), and unlike the harbor freight version, the Sam's jack has the handle on one side only.

The sams jack does have foam padding on the handle where you typically whack the car.

Speaking of which...I think my Harbor Freight one needs to be bled. It takes two or three more pumps for the same amount of lift than when I first got it.

Has anyone bled theirs that can tell me how? I have the instructions *somewhere* but I don't know if I can find them.

Vince,

I got the Model #3939 from Harbor Freight over the Xmas break. It comes with a Bleeder Valve that can be swapped in place of the Seal Bolt. But if you don't have it then do as follows:

1. Turn handle 1 1/2 turns counterclockwise..
2. Remove Seal Bolt oil fill plug.
3. Rapidly pump handle several times to purge air.
4. Close release valve by turning handle completely clockwise.
5. Top off fluid to bottom of plug hole.
6. Replace Seal Bolt (plug).
7. Clean up your mess of overflow hydraulic oil.

I live right down the street from the one on Harrison Matt. I am tied up most of Sunday afternoon, but I could meet you up there most any night next week if you don't work it out with Jason. Just send me a message if you need to.

Just saw this on the harbor freight site.

http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/d ... mber=91039

Their jack is onsale for $89.99!

What are the negatives to this one compared to the one at Sam's?

Jason,

I got the model 3939. Just substitute that number for the one in your link. I paid $130 on sale during Xmas instead of the regular $140. Mine has the same specs that Scott posted on the Sam's one. I'm at full height (18") in 6 pumps. The one you are looking at appears to be 15" max height. And they don't advertise how many pumps to full lift. Other than that if you don't want to spend the extra that seems like the only difference. The one at Sears went on sale. I just got a flyer for it. $180. I wouldn't be surprised if US General makes all of them and just puts different logos on them!

Graham
