The question being brandied about is asking if Mobil 1 has changed their formula. These events are within the past year or so.

I think the answer is yes. Due to the ZDDP issue I mention above.

Money can't buy happiness, but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than a Kia.

So much to respond to and so little time right now. Since work is busy and the race season is not far off I will disregard comments from posers, waxers and wanna-bes. Ok, so responses are now narrowed to one or two. :D

Wow! I didn't know that moving to wheel to wheel racing made you so much smarter? Is it like staying at a Holiday Inn? :D

Yes it has  Now if I stay at Holiday Inn's I will be a genius and get the distributor in the right way!

BTW, I don't consider myself a poser (though if others do, that's fine)- I am probably one of the few people who can truthfully claim to have been a PAID race car driver... :P

Some Tech from Mobil:

Jim,

Out of curiousity, what weight Mobil 1 were you using? For what it may be worth, a Ford engineer who has extensive engine experience with the Ford Modular engines STRONGLY recommends not running any lower than 10W-30 in those engines, even synthetic. I think the concern is bottom end related, not valve train which, of course, is very different from yours.

In any case, in a highly stressed situation of running a basically street engine in racing conditions, Redline makes sense given its racing record.

You need to quite spending so much time working and more time on this forum so will be better informed. Yep bent the frame, broke the seats, the exhaust was very study and didn't give any so the engine broke the motor mounts, but the guy that bought the salvage stared it right up and drove it on his trailer. Ryan found it's twin brother for me in florida so all is good.
