I need a roll bar for my 87 fox mustang....unfortunatly I think I might have run out of time to make the VIR event next month, as many companies (Autopower & Kirk) are build to order and take between 4-6 weeks to deliver.

Calling all fabricaors
I'm looking to see if anyone local is up to the task... and because its SUCH short notice I would be willing to add a cash bonus.

I want to run the big track so bad I can't stand it!!!!

thanks
jake

Jake... is the Mustang a convertible?

You don't need the roll bar for the HPDE if the car is not a convertible

Gotcha... hmmm... check Steeda out: http://www.steeda.com/products/roll_bars.php

Scroll down a bit to the road race bars... maybe they have something pre-built that can be shipped in time?

I went looking at the Focus ones - quick questions:

The Focus bar appears to only have a driver-side harness tube, while the picture of the Mustang bar doesn't seem to have *any* harness tube.

They list 2 bars for the Focus - only one is DOM tubing (and much more expensive) - isn't DOM tubing required?

Wouldn't want you to end up with something that wasn't going to work.

I'd definitely recommend ordering the additional harness bar for it (bolt in is OK).

This was at the bottom of that page I posted...
Quote:
Important Note: All roll bars made from DOM tubing. Rollbars come spray-painted black for corrosion protection only. Scratches will occur during shipping and are not covered under warranty. Customer is responsible for finish and painting of roll bar.

Kendt... I'd call them about the Focus stuff... the info on the Focus pages is very vague at best.

Oh! Is that what the little bar to the right of the screen is for?

I'll have to look closer at the Focus bar as an option. I'm debating just having Competition Cages do my setup.

You'd be better off with CC doing it... it's worth the wait for sure

Last resort: Pull out the race seats and put the OEM's back in. Then just run the OEM 3-point belting. G to G.

Oh, yeah. You still need to get the car tech'd. :)

1200 buck later, a couple of sleepless nights and I'm ready for this weekend!!! Passed tech yesterday, came home and PASSED OUT.

I'll be the SLOW blue mustang, riding the learning curve.
