The Tire Rack somehow still has a killer price for the 205-15-50's for the arrrrrgh. They're at $122 right now which is at least $50 per tire less than the norm.

Is this mainly attributed to them being old stock perhaps and if so, would they be compromised in performance?

I just spoke to one of the reps and he either didn't know and/or care. He actually said they're regularly priced at that price point.

Maybe I'm just being over-analytical but there's some good competition in DS next year. :woo:

I purchased a set of 225/50/14 V710's like a week or two before they put the big discount pricing on them (which would have saved me about $120....). FWIW....they were nowhere near as grippy brand new as the previous set I bought.

Ouch. That's what I was afraid of.

The only two sets of R-comps I've had (V7's & Hoosier A4's) were both purchased on closeout so maybe it won't be anything different than what I'm used to. Maybe ignorance was bliss?

Who's coming to DS next year besides Keith and his ZHP (it's going to be strange having two red ZHPs running)?

Nope, they charge more if they have to store them. The V700s I bought last February were manufactured about 6 weeks after the V700s I bought in February 2006, and they cost $15 more apiece.
