Anyone know where I can pick up a trailer brake controller today? I took a quick look on the Advance Auto and CarQuest websites but didn't see anything. Any leads would be appreciated. I work in RTP and live south of Chapel Hill, so would prefer to avoid trips to Raleigh if I can avoid it.

Failing any luck there, if someone has 1 I can borrow for the weekend, that be much appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

I know Northern Tool and Harbor Freight carry them in stock. - AB

Carl - I have the club's old Tekonsha Voyager controller here in my garage from the old bus. I think it's in my garage and not in the trailer. Anyways I was planning on selling it for $20 and giving the cash to the club.

This sounds like a perfect match to me. Let me know if you want it.

My Tekonsha is removable and I have a spare wiring harness if you want to borrow it. The harness is free. I want the controller back. Unfortunately, the parts are in different locations :(

Northern Tool stocks brake controllers as well.

Carl, I'm guessing you've already gone to find something, but in the future your closest bet to your house is Southern Alamance Trailers. They're over toward Snow Camp off Old Greensboro, but only about fifteen minutes from you. 336-376-6316

The guys there can take care of any trailer issue known to man.

Thanks all- after a bit of searching, I've got the ex-club controller in hand!

Though it sounds like too little too late, Wal-Mart has them.

I also have a spare- can't remember the brand/model but it worked fine for me.

People I know that deal with HUNDREDS of brake controllers per year will only use Tekonsha brand controllers, period. I believe they has something in every price category, but the best controller going is the Prodigy by Tekonsha. I personally wouldn't use anything else if I can help it (though my coach does still have a Reese in it, it will get swapped out soon...anyone want to buy a Reese controller once used by The King?).

Not sure what brand Wal-Mart sells, but not all are created equal. I've heard of Drawtite controllers actually catching on fire under the dash on MULTIPLE occasions. *shudder*

Well, the ex-club controller was DOA but I was able to borrow a big old one from Eric Adams' dad Ed (thanks!) for the trip. Don't recall the brand but it was a progressive (pendulum) type and worked very transparently.

Anyone (else) have leads on a good deal on a Tekonsha?

Thanks!

I've had good luck with etrailer for other stuff, but I got my Prodigy fromthese folks on ebay. They weren't lightning quick with shipping, but did ship within the period the auction stated - I think I had it in about a week.
